Description

Today I come with the idea of proposing an amazing backpacking hike in the surroundings of Castle Rock State Park. Are you coming?

In this 1-day trek in Castle Rock State Park you will also have the opportunity of learning various techniques for this kind of activity, even it is the first time you’ll do it.

During the trip, you will enjoy an incredible full day walking along the coastal area, in the Bay of Monterrey on the Pacific Ocean seaside. You will also hike across other trails that will lead us to the mountains of Santa Cruz.

You will be taught how to overcome very dense forest areas and sand stones. At night, a nice fire in the campsite will meet us in order to dinner and share a great moment with the group.

As I said, it is not obligatory to have previous backpacking experience. With enthusiasm and a little training it will be more than enough! It will be a learning trip about the basic rules of backpacking hike. Once the trip finishes, you will know:

  • How to prepare a backpack

  • Basic knowledge about animals and plants of the region

  • How to set up a tent

  • How to use camping gear, such as the heaters

  • How to take care of environment without leaving human signs

The Rock Castle State Park and its stunning bay are the perfect places for this kind of activities. So, don’t miss it! I can ensure it will be an unforgettable experience.

You also can ask me for other trekking points, like Point Rey or Ojai. Next scheduled departures are in September and October and places are limited!

Contact me and let’s do it together. It will be great for me to teach you the basis of backpacking in such an amazing place as Rock Castle State Park.

Will was great wise and fun to spend the day with.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!

Nate was very knowledgeable and got me to the top of mountain. He’s not as engaging as most of the guides I’ve had over the years. I’ve learned a lot about most of my climbs as guides talk about the mountain and the area maybe even plant and animals and I enjoy getting to know them better. We did talk a bit more on the way out of the trailhead. All in all a good experience. But not sure your company told him I had a knee replacement and would be slow.
