Description

Let’s explore the Scottish Isle of Skye, site of 12 of the most challenging Munros.  I will design a custom trip that will meet your needs!

For those not yet familiar with the world of Munros, these are the peaks in Scotland that rise above 3,000 ft (or 914.4 meters).  They are named after Sir Hugh Munro, the 19th century adventurer who first compiled a complete list of all 283 such peaks.  More recently, it has become a pastime for many to attempt to summit, or “bag,” as many of the Munros as possible.

Of the 283 Munros, 12 are located located in the Black Cuillin mountains on the island of Skye.  These are considered some of the hardest to complete, as they are linked by narrow ridges and complicated, sometimes exposed, scrambles.  As the trail can be hard to follow, past hikers have found that a guide with knowledge of the route can be helpful in ensuring success.

I offer customized guiding services around the Munros of Skye.  In my experience, all 12 Munros can be completed in 4 days by someone with a decent level of fitness.  However, I am happy to offer my services for shorter trips as well.  Other than the Munros, there are great mountaineering routes nearby that can be helpful for those who want to practice ridge traverses.  I am also happy to guide anyone who simply wants to spend a day outdoors enjoying the natural beauty of Scotland.  I can tailor these trips for participants of all experience and fitness levels.

Book now and I will design a trip no matter your goals: whether you aim to “bag” all 12 Munros, just a few, or simply want to experience some of Scotland’s stunning landscapes, I can help!

It was an amazing experience, I can’t believe I made it to the summit through the tower ridge, and it still feels like a dream that I became 1st person from my country to achieve and conquered the summit thru tower gap, this world record became achievable because of the guidance from the guide -Scott and Louis and the team behind that. I am seeking forward to look for more adventures in the future with you guys and make more records.

Our guide Kyle was amazing and thoughtful. He meant some of his own rain gear because of the weather. Was very knowledgeable about wild life and folklore during the hike up and back down. Excellent person.

Most enjoyable stunning hike with Dave (the guide). We managed to summit 2 peaks which far exceeded my expectations that we could do it in the first place! The views were absolutely amazing! Dave was patient and informative - and never hurried us along - and was always encouraging and supportive throughout the whole hike in what we could achieve.

Thanks to Scott for a great intro to trad climbing day. We learnt about all the necessary basics needed for leading trad and my partner got the chance to lead a diff. It was his very first trad lead and he was extremely happy to have the opportunity, with Scott on a static rope beside him to check gear placements etc. Scott was very knowledgeable, answered all questions we had and was overall a great teacher. Would book more activities with him in the future.

Scott was fantastic! Our weather window didn’t work out for a full Cuillin traverse but Scott was very flexible and helpful in providing last minute plan alterations. Luckily we still managed Pinnacle Ridge in the Cuillins on the (somewhat!) better weather day and on the bad weather day Scott suggested an all-together different climb that would have otherwise been off of our radar, but that we still enjoyed greatly nonetheless. Scott is clearly extremely dedicated to providing his clients with a great experience - he travelled extra distance to meet us and insisted on sleeping in his van nearby so that we could attempt Pinnacle Ridge on the second day, even though the weather forecast was looking like it would be a bust. He wanted to be ready anyways. Easy guy to chat with, punctual, quick email response time, very knowledgeable about the local terrain and routes, and definitely safety-focused. I am a strong experienced trad climber but this was my first time in the Cuillins. With the strong winds and rain everything was extremely slippery so I was definitely glad to have Scott leading the way in this one. Thanks for a fantastic trip Scott! Pinnacle Ridge was definitely a highlight of our trip. 5+ star guide no doubt!

Having Scott as guide made of it a superb adventure. His explanations about the route, geology, history and nature made the hiking very short in time and interesting
