Eolian Castles is an vast area located in the East of Kyrgyz Ala-Too Range (Tian-Shan). Its name comes from the Greek language and means “god of the wind”.

All the rocky and sandy formations you will see during this Eolian Castles trekking were created by the wind in the past. On the way, you will also discover red canyons and many other ruins that will remind you to old churches and castles. It will be a really interesting trip!

Eolian Castles has a unique scenery where the main stars are the colors produced by the aridity and drought. Besides, the water as a result of usual storms, has turned the area into a labyrinth of cracks, steep ridges and low mounts with rounded peaks.

This hiking day among Eolian Castles will take you back to a past full of gods and myths. The canyons are a consequence of the erosion of the rains and winds. They have destroyed all the environment creating an amazing new world in the region.

This trek I am proposing today will have its starting point in Bishkek. We’ll go to Boomsky gorge by car, leaving it near the Red Bridge. We will find there, the main riverbed of the Chue River. We’ll have to border it by foot. We will hike across a rocky canyon, labyrinths and small waterfalls.

After some walking time we’ll suddenly see an open valley with a the Eolian castles ahead. You won’t believe such a landscape, trust me! Then, we’ll finally return to Bishkek at 5 or 6 P.M.

If you are looking for an alternative day hiking tour, I recommend you the trekking to the Belogorka gorge that I propose as well.

It will be a really exciting trekking day in the Eolian Castles. Feel free to get in touch with me. I can help you to plan this unique trip with the best certified company.
