Description

We invite you to join us on a backcountry skiing tour in the Portes du Soleil, a major winter destination in the Alps. We are based in Morzine, so we know this area like the back of our hands! We will take you on a discovery trip to hidden spots, searching for the best snow and the most amazing descents.

The Portes du Soleil (“the Doors of the Sun”) is one of the largest ski areas in the world, situated between Mont Blanc in France and Lake Geneva in Switzerland. It encompasses thirteen resorts (Châtel, Avoriaz, Morzine, Morgin, Les Crossets and Champery in France) and has about 200 lifts in total, spread over 14 valleys.

There is a microclimate in the area which generates a consistent snowfall. The ski season here starts in December at extends until May, depending on the snow condition.

We are not only experts on the Portes du Soleil terrain, but on the nearby resorts as well, such as Chamonix, Courmayeur, Verbier, or the Grand Massif. So, if you are looking to explore new places, we will show you around these great skiing destinations.

The Guides in the Morzine-Avoriaz Guides Bureau are trained by the Ecole Nationale des Sports de Montagne (ENSA) in Chamonix and certified by IFMGA.

Whether during the summer or during the winter, the guides in our team (Sebastien, Guillaume, Patrick and Guillaume) will lead you as you discover the Portes du Soleil or the mountains in the Mont Blanc range.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge.
