The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area features gorgeous desert landscapes including, as the name suggests, dramatic red rock formations. Only half an hour from downtown Vegas and with many rock climbing spots and hiking trails, it’s no wonder that it’s a popular destination.

The Calico Tanks Trail is one of the park’s most classic routes. It’s two and a half miles long with 400 feet of elevation gain. There are some tricky parts, so be prepared to do a bit of scrambling.

Expect to admire beautiful red and yellow rock formations, picturesque mountains, and a serene water tank.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide.
