Description

This exciting half-day of mountain biking takes place in the stunning Peruvian Andes near the city of Arequipa. The ride begins at 3245m altitude at the base of the inactive but spectacular Picchu Picchu volcano. From there I will lead you on a great descent that could hardly be rivalled anywhere in the world.

Simply breathtaking vistas in all directions over the mountain landscape will be enjoyed as we weave ourselves down the mountainside. On route we will pass through the picturesque villages of Miraflores, Cachamarca and Chiguata (2969m).

I have undertaken this trip numerous times and my fellow guides and I have the mechanical knowledge and equipment to deal with any bike malfunctions. You will be transported to and from the city of Arequipa and the whole excursion will last roughly 4 hours in total.

There will be a security vehicle accompanying us throughout our trip to ensure everyone’s safety. This trip is of medium difficulty so you will need to feel comfortable riding a mountain bike and have a fairly good level of fitness.

You will be provided with standard mountain bikes but their are premium level bikes with hydraulic brakes call Alta Gama for rent at a cost of 15 dollars each.

Sign up now for the mountain bike ride like no other, not many people get the chance to discover the breathtaking landscapes of the Andes this way!

If you have more time available and would like to explore the Andes more intimately then consider joining me for a 2-day ascension of beautiful Mount Chachani at 5175m or a 2-day ascension of the epic Misti Volcano at 5825m.
