Beginning the cycling portion of our adventure in Huaraz, we will combine road cycling with mountain biking as we ascend into the mountains and travel along the ridge lines and through the valleys of some of the Cordillera Blanca’s highest peaks.
Each day, we will enjoy gorgeous views and toward the end of you trip, we will spend a day exploring Lagoon 69 in Huascarán National Park. It is one of the more than 400 lagoons that form part of the park, which is considered a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage site. You will not want to miss it!
While we will not do too much climbing on all of the days, expect to ride for about 30 kilometers each day. A high level of physical fitness and competency on a bike are required for you to enjoy this trip. However, if you are not feeling up to it one day, we do have an accompanying vehicle that follows us.
