Description

Peru is one of the best places to practice mountaineering, especially the Cordillera Blanca. We would like to invite you to participate in a challenging and rewarding program to the impressive summit of Ranrapalca (6,162m) on an expedition that will take us 5 days to complete. Join me!

Our journey to the summit of Ranrapalca will begin in Huaraz, where we’ll have an acclimatization day. Then, we’ll enter the Huascarán National Park and follow the path to the top of this incredible mountain. Finally, we’ll reach the summit and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views it offers.

The path we’ll follow features both easy and difficult stretches. Therefore, although you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy each area, it is of vital importance that you’ve trained for this and that you’ve completed the necessary acclimatization.

Itinerary

Day 1: Acclimatization day in Huaraz

Day 2: Huaraz - Pashpa - Ishinca Base Camp (4,350m)

We’ll enter the Huascarán National Park and trek for 4-5 hours up to the Ishinca Base Camp.

Day 3: Base Camp - High Camp (5,200m)

We’ll follow the route of the Ishinca Glacier up to the pass between the Ranrapalca and Ishinca.

Day 4: High Camp - Ranrapalca summit (6,162m) - Base Camp

The summit will give us stunning panoramic views of the Cordillera Blanca.

Day 5: Base Camp - Huaraz

Easy day descending through the same route to Cochapampa, Pashpa, where a bus will be waiting to take us back to Huaraz.

Equipment you will need to bring

Warm and comfortable clothes for the mountain, windproof and waterproof jacket and pants, gloves, mountaineering boots, flip-flops, thick and thin socks, hiking sticks, sleeping bag, sunscreen and lip balm, first aid kit.
