    It’s my pleasure to invite you to a hiking and canyoning half-day tour among the Cahorros route, in Monachil.

    Monachil offers us the possibility of crossing the spectacular canyon of the Monachil River. It rises between amazing walls of more than 50m connected to one another by hanging bridges. Those bridges will transport us to a completely different Granada viewpoint.

    The main reasons why I’d love to take you to there are:

    • The best limestones for climbing lovers;
    • Pools where to swim;
    • Really mysterious small caves;
    • An overflowing vegetation.

    Monachil is very close to the city center of Granada. However, the transfer distance can vary between 8 and 16 kilometers. It will depend on the group’s priorities. In my opinion, we should spend at least half a day enjoying this place. There are many outdoor activities to do in Monachil. We can have a walk, take unique pictures or simply enjoy such a great landscape.

    Please keep in mind that you will need comfortable clothes and a good hiking boots. The safety and more technical material, if needed, will be provided by me.

    So, what are you waiting for to contact me and book your place? It will be a really amazing adventure. Don’t miss the chance!

    About the Guide

    I'm a lover of adventure sports, with 23 years of experience in almost all its modalities. My passion is climbing, although my profession is more focused on another of my passions: the canyoning. I'm ICOpro Instructor (the only one in Spain), which allows me to join my two passions, sport and teaching.
    I have climbed and done canyoning in many countries of the world like Indonesia, Morocco, Argentina, France, Switzerland and India. And what my travels have truly taught me is that what really matters is the people and what they can teach me. I learn from each of the people I lead and I love that.

    Es hat wirklich viel Spaß gemacht! Und auch wenn ich etwas ängstlich bin, habe ich mich immer sicher und in guten Händen gefühlt. Die Sprünge sind wirklich nicht verpflichtend, aber die Gruppe (\"La Familia\") hat mir Mut gemacht und ich habe mir alles zugetraut :) Man kann auch immer erst einmal schauen, wie es die anderen machen ;) Die Guides geben einem stets die Möglichkeit, einen anderen Weg zu gehen. Das war jedoch nicht nötig. Wichtig: Unbedingt die Packliste ansehen! Schuhe für\'s Wasser sind verpflichtend und Wechselschuhe für danach sind wirklich gut. Wenn der Van geparkt hat, geht\'s in Badesachen etwa 45min bergauf bevor man die Wetsuits anzieht und das Canyoning startet. Good to know: Die Guides haben eine wasserfeste GoPro dabei, um Fotos von der Tour und der Gruppe in Action zu machen ;)

    Booked half day Via Ferrata - it turned out to be 1.5 hours via Ferrata and 1.5 hours travelling. Was disappointed with the amount of time actually doing the activity

    More information required from Rafa before the trip - we did not know that we would have to drive for 30 mins off-road to get to the start point. We were in a hire car and I was very concerned about damaging the car. We also had 21 people in our group - this is far too many. The trip took about 7 hours because we moved so slowly with so many people.
