Boasting some of the best hiking trails the Green Mountains have to offer along with plenty of great waterways for kayaking, Killington, Vermont is the perfect starting point for an adventure holiday!

Over the course of our time together, we will explore this incredible part of Vermont from the top of its numerous mountains down to local historical and cultural sites.

This trip is completely customizable, meaning the length and content of the itinerary is completely up to your discretion.

Some of the incredible options we have include hiking along various portions of the Appalachian and Long Trails, the latter of which is the oldest long-distance hiking trail in the United States.

We will also have the chance to explore various museums, including the famed New England Maple Museum, swim and kayak on the various rivers and waterways, as well as try out caving. A sample itinerary is listed below.

Regardless of what you choose to do, one thing is for certain, the views will be phenomenal. From the top of Vermont’s two tallest mountains, we will get to see the sea of trees that characterizes New England.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Arrive in Killington, Vermont for the meet and greet dinner. (Please note, this is just a sample itinerary.)

Day 2: Hike and Swim

Hike on the Appalachian Trail, kayak and swim in a local lake.

Day 3: Killington Peak and Maple Syrup Museum

Hike Vermont’s second highest mountain, Killington Peak, and then head on a tour of the New England Maple Museum.

Day 4: Woodstock Village

Hike in the National Forest and visit Woodstock Village.

Day 5: Caving and kayaking

Explore a cave and kayak on a local river.

Day 6: Mt Mansfield and Stowe Village

Hike Vermont’s highest mountain, Mt Mansfield, and then visit Stowe Village.

Day 7: Fire Tower and country store

Short fire tower hike, visit the Vermont Country Store and swim at a local waterfall. Farewell dinner in the evening.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge.
