Come along and join me on this 2 day introductory ski tour in Bad Hindelang!

Located in the German State of Bavaria, Bad Hindelang is the ideal place to practice this exciting activity for the first time. Thanks to its heavy snowfalls, stunning powder slopes and wide variety of ski touring levels this place is a winter sports paradise.

This 2-day course provides an introduction to ski touring. In addition to climbing techniques with skins and skiing in deep snow, you will learn avalanche search techniques. Consequently, you will learn how to predict dangerous avalanche situations. Furthermore, I’ll also teach you some secret tips and tricks that will be essential for your improvement on some simple summit ascents and descents.

Although this is an introductory course and no experience is required, all participants must have great physical condition. Because each day we’ll ascend approximately 600 meters in 3 hours, a good fitness level is important. Of course, I will be there at all times to help and guide you.

Itinerary

Day 1: Easy beginners tours

During these easy beginners tours, we’ll cover basic ski touring skills including:

climbing techniques with skins
skiing in deep snow
learning how to use an avalanche search

Day 2: Continue touring

On day 2, we will continue with the tours and finish around 15:00 clock.

Mountain Guide

IFMGA/IVBV Certified mountain, ski and canyoning guide, member of DAV and VDBS mountaineering and sport climbing teaching and training team. I’ve been part of the VDBS team for the formation and training of German mountain guides for 20 years.

I started climbing at the age of 17. Since 1987 I am certified mountain guide and a passion has become a profession. I live in Scharnitz / Tyrol and I am leader of the moutaineering school Alpenwelt Karwendel in Mittenwald.
Ice climbing in norway, skitouring in morocco, rock climbing in cuba or high mountains in the himalaya - I like it to explore new areas around the world. I led a DAV training expedition for talented young mountaineers in the Tian Shan mountain range with climbing Khan Tengri and did several expeditions to the karakorum mountains and the himalayas.

As a full-time mountain guide, I feel at home in the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains as well as in the mountains and climbing areas worldwide. I am happy to accompany you as a guide to your desired goal!
