One day at a time, discover Les Calanques and its beautiful landscapes where the sea is intimately tied to the land. A 6-day discovery journey between rocks and the sky, in the garrigue scents.

This hike in Les Calanques is one of my favourites for the following reasons:

  • A source in the middle of nowhere

  • The diverse landscape

  • The traces of past life

  • Prehistory under our feet

I like to go there after the winter, to escape from the white mountains during a week and enjoy those unique views of the Mediterranean. The contrast is amazing!

I know Les Calanques very well because I have climbed a lot. Also, a very close friend who lives there has showed me the area from a local point of view.

Below this description, you can find the daily hiking program in Les Calanques.

This is an intermediate-sustained hike. The difficulty depends on the technicality of the terrain and the aerial passages.

Itinerary

Day 1: Participants arrival to Cassis

Day 2: Luminy-Sormiou-Morgiou-Sugiton

  • Transfer to Luminy

  • The path of 13 contours

  • Why not a dip in the sea

  • Prehistory under our feet

  • Dinner at the hotel

  • Overnight in double room

  • Altitude change: +600 -600

  • Walking time: 5h

Day 3: Mont-Cyr - Carpiane

  • Transfer to Barasse

  • An intimate hike

  • The Eaux Vives source

  • The rocks are lunar

  • Views of all of Les Calanques

  • Dinner at the hotel

  • Walking time: 6h

Day 4: Cap Canaille

  • Transfer to Pas de la Colle

  • Balcony path on the ocher cliffs
