Follow me on this Montrebei 2-day rock climbing tour and discover one of the classic climbing areas in Spain!
Located between the provinces of Lleida and Huesca, the narrow and spectacular gorge of Montrebei is one of the most impressive natural gems of Catalonia. This steep canyon covers a surface area of about 600 hectares and has become a classic among climbers.
With routes that are up to 550 meters high and between 150 meters and 400 meters long, Montrebei offers varied and different level routes that are ideal for intermediate and experienced climbers. Some of the routes we may explore are: Vía diedro Gris (MD+, 6a, V+ 400 m); Vía La puñalada trapera 6c (6ª+ oblig.); Vía Santiago Domingo (MD, V+/Ae, 400 m,) and more!
Moreover, the Montrebei area is special because of the abundant flora and diverse animal species that live in and around the mountains. Popular among climbers, hikers and mountain bikers, the canyon offers as much of a challenge as it does a breathtaking view of the landscape.
