This mountaineering course in Sierra Nevada is designed so that climbers can become confident and independent mountaineers!
Enjoying the mountain during the winter in total safety requires more knowledge and skills than during the summer. This one-day program will make it possible for participants to improve their climbing techniques and to progress through snow-covered mountain terrain.
During this course, you will learn the following:
Basic equipment for winter mountaineering
Progression techniques on snow-covered terrain
Handling of ice axes and crampons
Self-arrest techniques
Rope belaying techniques
Knowledge and prevention of hazards
Notions about avalanche prevention and avalanche
What a better way to improve your climbing skills than in this Spanish winter paradise! At the end of the day, with these acquired techniques, climbers will be able to perform safely on their own on the mountains during the winter time.

Mountain Guide – Ski Guide · High Mountain Superior Sport Technician (Técnico Deportivo Superior en Alta Montaña) and Ski Mountaineering Superior Sport Technician (Técnico Deportivo Superior en Esquí de Montaña) from Spain.
He has more than 20 years doing mountain and skiing. From his early walks in La Pedriza to tens of alpine “four thousanders” summits ascended, to expeditions in North and South America, Caucasus and Central Asia, he has traveled many mountains, especially on his skis, since he is a fan of this sport in all disciplines. Mariano also enjoys classic climbing and mountaineering.
He has Mountain Guide and Ski Mountaineering Guide certifications from the AAGGM.
He's a great teacher and teaches with the same passion with which he enjoys the mountain. He speaks spanish, english, italian, french (basic) and russian (basic).
