Situated on the northwestern shore of Lake Titicaca, sitting in the shadow of the Cordillera Real, there is no better place to head for multi-pitch rock climbing in Bolivia than Escoma!
From La Paz, we will make the three hour drive northwest to the small town, enjoying the stunning scenery of the altiplano en route.
Once we've arrived, we'll head out for some warm up ridge climbing at Puetro Chaguaya to get the rust off and enjoy a nice soak in the hot springs afterwards.
The following day is the real highlight of the trip as we make a 150-meter (500-foot) multi-pitch ascent up a nearby wall.
As we go to and from the top of the tower, we will enjoy some great views out over Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, was well as toward the imposing Cordillera Real.
In the afternoon, we will cap off the trip with a visit to theĀ Carabuco colonial church, where we will lean a bit about the area's history and culture, before returning to La Paz and saying goodbye.

Aspirant Guide
My name is Davide. I grew up in Belgium and started climbing as a child because my mother used to hide the chocolate on the highest shelf.
I've been living, traveling and climbing in Bolivia since 2009. I enjoy high, famous mountains such as Illimani and Ancohuma but also have fun on smaller, remote mountains: Jaqusiri, Warawarani among others...
Having noticed big rocks in my backyard in PeƱas, I started bolting them with some friends. Now the village has more than 100 climbing routes.
Working as a guide I like to offer my clients an original and safe experience, combining a strong knowledge of the Royal Range with special cultural visits.
