Description

In a mountain range as vast as the Pirin mountains in Bulgaria, there is an assortment of different ways you can go about exploring and enjoying it. There are a number of different paths, routes and highlights available in the range. And on this trip, we will explore its Northern area, on a 3-day hut to hut ski tour.

The northern area of the Pirin mountains is quite remote. Thus giving you a quieter, more tranquil experience. And because we will be staying in a remote, high altitude hut on the second night, the Tevno Ezero hut (2,500m), that tranquil feeling will extend into the evenings as well. Along with the beauty of the views, you will get from the hut, we will also visit the village of Dorbinishte. This small village is a lovely place, and you will get ample time to explore it, as we will be spending our first night there.

The focus of this trip is not so much about technical skiing and difficult slopes; instead, it is about enjoying being in the mountains. However, because we will be covering a lot of terrain, participants should be in good physical condition and while the terrain is not too difficult, it does offer some varied conditions, from slush to powder, so previous skiing experience is a plus.

This 3 day ski tour through the Northern Pirin mountains is a joy for anybody who wants to enjoy the silence, the fun descents, and the gorgeous scenery of a fantastic mountain range. If that sounds like the trip for you, just send us a request.

And if you would like to experience a more challenging ski touring trip in the Pirin mountains that focuses more on the peaks themselves, you can also join us here.

Lyuben is a very good guide. More than a ski touring guide , he is a perfect travel organiser. We were a group of 4 Belgium guys around 50 to make the 4 days touring ski tour. He chose for us a very good family guesthouse, with very good food. He let us discover local thermal bath, traditional restaurant. About ski touring, Lyuben chose each day the best spot possible for the landscape and the snow adapted to the changing weather conditions. Time keeping was perfect. Zero stress for any situation. He has a comfortable car and does not hesitate to drive hours to bring us to the best area or to bring back us to the airport. Very friendly, super adaptive with us, I warmly recommend Lyuben.
