Description

The Nevado Ojos del Salado (6,893m) is an absolutely incredible peak in Chile. Second in height in the Americas only to Aconcagua (6,962m), the peak is a wonder in every way. It is also the highest volcano in the entire world! As a result of its lofty stature, this peak is popular with mountaineers from around the world. And, it would be my pleasure to guide you to the top of this great peak over a 13-day expedition that you will never forget.

Located in the Atacama Desert, the Ojos del Salado volcano is surrounded by several gorgeous peaks. And, during the climb, as well as from the summit, you will get to admire several of them. Those peaks include El Muerto (6,488m), Incahuasi (6,638m) and more.

Along with the peak itself, during this adventure, you will also get to visit, explore and enjoy many highlights in the area. Some examples of what you’ll get to see and where you’ll get to visit include the following.

  • Vallecito

  • Laguna Santa Rosa

  • Laguna Verde

  • The Mulas Muertas Mountain

  • The San Francisco Volcano

  • Refugio Tejos

  • Caldera

Due to the altitude of the Nevado Ojos del Salado, proper acclimatization is crucial. As a result, you will get to enjoy two wonderful climbs of the Mulas Muertas Mountain (5,250m) and the San Francisco Volcano (6,036m).

Participants on this trip should be in good physical condition.

If you would like to climb to the summit of the world’s tallest volcano, this is your chance! To join me on this 13-day adventure to the top of the Ojos del Salado, please send a request. I look forward to guiding you.

I can also take you to the summit of the Parinacota Volcano on this 9-day trip.

Adolfo

For more than 20 years I have worked as a guide in Chile. Join me and I´ll be able to show you the wonderful spots that the Andes offer to those who share my passion for big mountains.

I live in Santiago de Chile, the Chilean capital, where there are many options for high altitude ascents, even over 6,000 meters, in close proximity to the city. I also regularly organize trips to the Chilean Altiplano, where there are many mountains over 6000 meters. However, the main attraction of these trips is to witness the intensity and loneliness of the Atacama Desert.

I would love to have the opportunity to share these magical moments with you and help you achieve your goals and dreams.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
