Description

Pico Almanzor (2,591 m) lies within the Sierra de Gredos in the province of Ávila. And it is the highest peak in Central Spain. If you are looking for a program to explore this dazzling mountain, search no more. Join me on this fantastic adventure to reach its summit.

This colossal peak made of granite, stands out not only for its size but its incomparable beauty. Also known as Moro Almanzor it is the perfect destination for this 2-days mountaineering trip.

The highest point in Sierra de Gredos is Pico Almanzor. Thus, we will get unrivalled views of this magnificent mountain range from its summit.

Sierra de Gredos extends through the provinces of Salamanca, Cáceres, Toledo, Ávila and Madrid. And it forms part of a larger range, the Central System. Also, it was declared a natural park by Castile and Leon. Therefore it remains in excellent conditions.

On this marvellous adventure we’ll head to Hoyos del Espino and then Circo de Gredos, taking an easy path. So it will be a pleasant and beautiful hike. Then, we’ll reach the bivouac where we’ll spend the night.

After a good night sleep and recovering our energies, we will prepare to reach the summit of Almanzor on our second day. Upon completion and once we take in the breathtaking views of the area we’ll descend, and head back home.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
