Description

Join me on this one-day Pico Madejuno (2513 meters) guided ascent in Picos de Europa National Park!

Located in the Principality of Asturias, in the Cantabrian Mountains, Pico Madejuno is one of the many amazing peaks that can be found in this climber’s paradise. Our meeting point will be in the municipality of Fuente Dé, one of the most important tourist destinations in Cantabria.

In 1955, Pedro Udaondo together with other three Spanish climbers managed to reach the summit of this beautiful mountain. My proposal is to  safely guide you to the top of Pico Madejuno by following the same route.

With a maximum grade of III+, our adventure won’t be too challenging but keep in mind that this ascent is definitely not for beginners and all participants must be in great physical condition.

If you want to join me on this guided one-day ascent, request to book this trip!

If you wish to join me on another adventure in Picos de Europa National Park, you can check out this Pico Cabrones (2553 meters) guided ascent.

Mountain Leader

Picos a Vista is led by Francisco González, a professional climbing and mountain guide as well as an alpine ski instructor, born and raised in Cantabria. His home mountains, especially the Picos de Europa, were his playground in adolescence and the place where he discovered his passion for the outdoors in all its forms.

With decades of experience, Francisco has explored mountain ranges and climbing areas across Spain, the Alps, and far beyond — from Yosemite and Squamish to Greenland’s remote fjords. His background as a versatile “all-terrain” adventurer allows him to guide safely and confidently in rock, snow, and mixed terrain, always with the aim of sharing the joy of the mountains with others.

Whether leading a technical climb, a scenic trek, or a ski descent, Francisco combines deep local knowledge with a love for exploration, creating unforgettable and authentic mountain experiences.

What people are saying about this trip

Peter

My guide, Fran, was top-notch. Super friendly and really knew his stuff. He was fantastic at tailoring our climb based on my expectations and what I could handle and - he nailed it. Also, he communicated in English really well. On the second day we chatted away like old friends. I had an awesome time and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a personalised climbing experience.
