Picos de Europa is a region with a well-deserved reputation as one of the best climbing spots of the world. This is your chance to climb its Mayara route and discover it for yourself!
The Picos de Europa (Spanish for “Peaks of Europe”) is a 20-km long mountain range part of the Cantabrian Mountains, in northern Spain. It consists on three massifs -Urrieles, Ándara and Picos de Cornión-, and its highest point is Torre de Cerredo (2650m).
Almost all of the walls of Picos de Europa are limestone, and the glacial action has contributed to create an impressive alpine karst. This beautiful alpine scenery, which usually has nice weather, offers lots of wild spots to discover.
On this day outing, we will meet in Fuente Dé and head up the Mayara, one of the most popular routes of the area. High quality limestone rock and awesome spires await us!
Please keep in mind that this day trip requires at least a 6a sport climbing level and some trad climbing experience. Of course, you will not be alone as I will help and guide you on the way.
So, if you want to enjoy an exciting rock climbing day in Picos de Europa, please get in touch with me. Let me guide you through the stunning Mayara route!

Based in Picos de Europa (Spain). Born in 1982, at the age of three I had my first contact with the mountains when my family took me skiing at the ski resort near my home.
Ever since then, I practiced consistently, developing an interest in climbing, skiing and trekking. I had always felt a special curiosity and attraction for alpinism and winter mountaineering and ever since then I have enjoyed the continuous learning process, climbing up some of the most emblematic mountains in Spain and abroad (France, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, USA, Morocco, Patagonia…)
After a few years working as a computer engineer where I felt that every day at office was “a wasted day”, I decided to leave everything and go for what really made me happy, to continue my mountain guide education and to head in the direction where I really wanted to go rather than just dreaming about it. I wanted everyday to count and to be able to share and transmit everything that the mountains mean to me.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
