Description

Enjoy a fascinating and wild rock climbing adventure on the Tasman Peninsular, The Totem Pole & The Moai. This area is full of sea stacks and pillars that tower majestically above the Tasman Sea, with the climbing itself and the views out to the horizon providing an unparalleled adrenaline rush.

The Moai and The Totem Pole are located in the Southeast of the island state of Tasmania, Australia, 100km from the state capital city of Hobart. Initially formed by volcanic magma, they were first climbed in 1968, and have gained an increasing reputation around the world as a great rock climbing spot.

On this trip, we’ll walk to the Moai, which offers a wide array of climbing routes on the pillar, catering for climbers of all levels of ability.

Whilst The Moai is a gentler, more moderate climb, The Totem Pole is a complex, challenging and difficult climb, and should only be undertaken by climbers with significant experience.

What both of these pillars offer is a completely unique rock climbing experience in Australia, as the sheer thrill of climbing very high above the Tasman Sea whilst testing and improving your rock climbing technique on these tricky climbs cannot be beaten.

Rock climbing The Moai and The Totem Pole is a sheer, unadulterated thrill – book now to raise your heart rate!

You can also enjoy rock climbing around Melbourne and Sidney.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
