Ski and train along Bergensbanen is a 7-day tour that combines some of the finest skiing in Norway with accommodation at historic hotels, local cuisine, a cruise on the UNESCO World Heritage fjord Nærøyfjorden, and travel with the spectacular railway Flåmsbanen. All of this is reached by the main railroad between Oslo and Bergen, known as Bergensbanen.
This trip is an ideal opportunity for ski enthusiasts who want to experience some of the best skiing in Norway as well as travelers who're looking for a unique and memorable vacation in Norway with a plethora of activities such as cruising, train travel, and sightseeing
Our ski adventure begins at the charming Hotel Finse 1222, which is accessible only by train or skis. Your tour guide will meet you there to discuss the upcoming itinerary.
The next day, after breakfast, we set out from the hotel on skis for a scenic exploration of the Finse terrain. We will explore the Hardangervidda National Park, the highest plateau in Northern Europe. In the afternoon, we will board the train to Upsete, another unique location reachable only by train or skis.
On the following days, we will continue skiing in different parts of Norway, including the Vossefjell mountains and the Jordalen valley. We will also take a cruise on the Nærøyfjord and travel on the Flåmsbanen railway. As our ski tour comes to a close, we will board the train heading toward Oslo or Bergen.

Day 1: Arrival at Hotel Finse
We'll gather at the charming Hotel Finse 1222, accessible only by train or skis. Your tour guide will meet you there to discuss the upcoming itinerary.
Day 2: Touring Finse and Upsete
Following breakfast, we set out from the hotel on skis for a scenic exploration of the Finse terrain. After our tour, we board the train to Upsete, another unique location reachable only by train or skis, where distinctive mountain lodging awaits.
Day 3: Train to Voss
On our third day, we'll venture towards Myrdal. At the tour's end, we'll hop onto the train to Voss, where the historic Fleischer's Hotel awaits right beside the train platform. Enjoy a delectable 3-course meal before resting for the next day's skiing adventure.
Day 4: Skiing in Voss
After breakfast, we take the train to the day's trailhead. The landscape offers exceptional skiing opportunities, and we will ski all the way down to our next lodging: Brandseth Mountain Lodge.
Day 5: Descent to Jordalen
From Brandseth, another exhilarating day of skiing unfolds across mountain terrain, punctuated by stunning descents. Our final descent takes us to Jordalen, a valley surrounded by fantastic ski territory. After being picked up at Jordalen, we journey to the Nærøy Valley and then down to the fjord. A local cruiseboat, the Vision of the Fjords, offers a scenic après-ski experience as we disembark at Flåm. Our accommodation for the night is at Fretheim Hotel.
Day 6: Explore the historic Flåm Railway
Starting from the hotel, we walk to the historic Flåm Railway, which transports us back into the mountains. Upon arrival, we check in at Vatnahalsen Mountain Lodge and explore the surrounding mountains on skis. The evening treats us to a delightful farewell dinner, marking the end of an exceptional ski journey.
Day 7: Final Day
Embarking on yet another day of skiing from the hotel entrance, our final day presents an array of remarkable tours around the lodge. As the skiing concludes, we board the train heading toward Oslo or Bergen.
