Located on the eastern edge of Himalayas, Bhutan is known for its stunning landscapes, beautiful monasteries, spirituality and simple living. From subtropical plains to soaring mountains and lush green valleys, Bhutan has a lot to offer.

This tour will take you to several notable sites and places including Thimphu, Paro, and Punakha. You will not only be visiting some of the most spectacular spots but also be immersing yourself in the rich culture and unique traditions of Bhutan. Get a glimpse of Bhutanese village life as we traverse small towns and villages in a picture-perfect setting!

Bhutan also offers many trekking options owing to its mountainous landscapes. The trip includes one such trek to the beautiful monastery of Mount Jomolhariand Paro Taktsang commonly known as the “Tiger’s Nest”. As you hike along a cliff above the lush Paro Valley on your way to the famous Tiger’s Nest, you’ll be utterly spellbound by the picturesque setting.

Itinerary

Day 1: Land at Paro/ Drive to Thimphu

After you land in Paro, we’ll head towards Thimpu, driving for about 2 hours. We will brief you about the tour. Take your time in Thimpu to stroll through the town.

Overnight at Hotel

Day 2: Explore Thimpu

Visit many famous sites in Thimpu. We will start with the Memorial Chorten of
the Late King Jigme Dorjee Wangchuk in the heart of the city. Next, we’ll visit
the School of Arts and Craft, Folk Heritage Museum, National Institute of Traditional Medicine,
Buddha Point, and Motithang Takin Preserve.

Overnight at Hotel

Day 3: Thimphu to Punakha

After a hearty breakfast, we will drive to Punakha. We will make a pit stop at the Dochula pass where you will be greeted with spectacular views of the Himalayas. We then continue towards Punakha.

Day 4: Punakha to Paro

Drive back to Paro. Today, we will visit one of the oldest Dzongs in Bhutan – the Simtokha Dzong. Next on the list is the National Museum, followed by Satsam Chorten Monastery and Paro Dzong. Overnight at Paro.

Day 5: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

Start early to hike to Paro Taktsang or the Tiger’s Nest. Paro Taktsang is a significant
Buddhist sacred site in Bhutan. It is located on a cliff in Paro valley. Next, head back to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 6: Depart from Paro

Transfer to the airport for your flight back home or the next destination.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge.
