“Sun hat” hike from Vilaflor in Tenerife with panoramic views of Mount Teide

Hiking in Tenerife, in the Canary Islands of Spain is an incredible experience. And, on this trip, I would like to guide you on the popular and gorgeous Sun Hat hike.

The Sun Hat hike will take you from Vilaflor up into the clouds. From the perched location you will get to see what will seem like the entire island. You will get to see the gorgeous natural landscape that seems to go on forever, and you will even get to gaze upon the gorgeous Pico del Teide (3,718m), which is affectionately called Papa Teide by locals of the island, from a viewpoint that rests at an altitude of approximately 2,500 meters, along the crater rim.

The Sun Hat hike is not very difficult. We will be walking for approximately 3 to 4 hours, and covering a distance of approximately 7 kilometers. Our elevation will be approximately 500 meters uphill and downhill. As a result, it is important that participants on this trip are in good physical condition.
