What are some characteristics of a Trolltunga Hike?
The Trolltunga hike in Norway is a challenging adventure, stretching 20 to 28 kilometers (12.4–17.4 miles) round-trip and offering breathtaking views across dramatic landscapes. Hikers will encounter a mix of forests, waterfalls, rocky plateaus, and steep sections, with an elevation gain of 640 to 800 meters (2,100–2,625 feet).
Though the trail is well-marked with red 'T's and generally well-maintained, it demands solid physical fitness and thorough preparation. Depending on your pace and starting point, the hike typically takes 7 to 12 hours to complete.
Proper gear is essential—hiking boots, a 30–35 liter backpack, wool layers, a waterproof shell, and trekking poles are highly recommended (as noted by 57hours). Due to rapidly changing mountain weather, hikers should be ready for a wide range of conditions.
The trail includes exposed sections, particularly near the cliff edge at Trolltunga, so caution is important. The best time to hike is from June to September, when conditions are most favorable. During peak season, guided tours may be required or recommended for safety and crowd management.

I had an awful experience with this agency. I couldn’t do the trekking because of a delay flight. I tried to let them know and they never answered me back. Also wrote to them the next day, again: they never answered me back. If you hired an agency/ guide for the trekking you at least expect them to call you in case you don’t arrive. Also this didn’t happened. Until today I don’t have an answer to any of my messages.
