Trad climbing in Pico de la Miel, Madrid

La Cabrera is a mountain range located 60 kms at north of Madrid. Its highest peak is the imposing Pico de la Miel (1,392 m), one of the most famous rock climbing spots in Spain. In this tour I want you to join me and head up the amazing Espolón Manolín Route to its summit.

Madrid and its outskirts offer more than 55 places for rock climbing. A very popular area is La Cabrera, which is part of the Sistema Central, one of the main systems of mountain ranges of the Iberian Peninsula.

La Cabrera offers more than 300 semi-equipped mult-pitch routes for all level climbers to improve their traditional climbing skills. Its highest summit, Pico de la Miel, is a granite spur with perfect cracks and dihedral walls. We will reach its summit after heading up its most famous route: Espolón Manolín.

Considered one of the the longest climbing routes in Madrid, in Vía Espolón Manolín you will find a unique and very varied climbing experience: slabs, nuts and and vertical walls at more than 200m of altitude.
