Dean, an UIMLA certified guide, wants to lead you for a full day of snowshoe touring through the amazing Julian Alps and Triglav national park in Slovenia.
The Triglav national park is the only national park in Slovenia. And it is an absolutely amazing park to visit. The park is filled with beautiful rivers like the Soca and the Sava, valleys, and the mighty Triglav mountain (2,864m). Triglav is also the highest mountain in the entire Julian Alps mountain range.
There are several different ways you can explore the Triglav national park. You can hike through the park. You can ski tour through the park. And you can snowshoe tour through the park, which is what we’ll be doing on this trip.
For approximately 2 – 5 hours, depending on your preferences and physical ability, you will get to tour through the park with wooden snowshoes on your feet. You will get to trek through different types of terrain. From snow covered meadows to open plateaus, or through the woods, surrounded by snow draped trees, you will get to explore a huge portion of the enormous Triglav national park.
Some of the highlights of what you’ll see during this trip include the Bovec valley, Kobaird, The Tamar valley, the Pokljuka plateau, the Bohinj lake, the Vrsic mountain pass, and so much more.
It really doesn’t matter how you get to see the Triglav national park. All that matters is that you do see it because it is a phenomanel place to visit. However, seeing it during a snowshoe tour in the middle of winter will definitely give you a unique experience. So send me a request, and let me guide you. I know you’ll have a great time!
If you are interested I would also like to guide you on a hiking day in the Trnovo plateau in the Dinaric Alps of Slovenia.

Dean was very attentive to all. Easy to talk to and informative
Dean was very helpful and responsive to our enquiries. He was enthusiastic and devoted to show the prettiest side of Tre Cime to us. Although we were a bit behind, Dean was patient to wait for us and cater to our speed. Great experience!!

Dean is an excellent guide. He\'s friendly and conscientious and throughout or trip was focused on getting us to achieve our hiking goals while being aware of our abilities and experience. We chose a relatively tough hike (8hrs, 1,700m elevation gain) but Dean made sure we completed it safely and at a good pace. He also took photos throughout so we could concentrate on the hiking and shared them with us later. He was also good company on the hike. I would thoroughly recommend his services.
Dean was simply wonderful ! Sure footed and quick to notice when we needed a break. Conversation was easy and he was very pleasant and professional. We had a fantastic time and would absolutely hike with Dean again. What an enjoyable experience!!!

We were looking for a hike suitable for 4 adults with reasonable experience in hiking.Dean not only crafted a 5 day activity for us but was also able to adjust for routes to fit our needs during the hike itself. Dean proved to be a great guide with both knowledge and an amazing attitude and was simply so much fun to be with, Dean also went \'the extra mile\' for us taking some of us to special activities which we did not plan for. If you are looking for hiking in Slovenia and getting an experience of a life time - I would highly recommend Dean. 5 starts all the way (And if there 6 he would get them as well :) ) Dean, thank you so much !
Dean was prompt and super knowledgeable about the area we were going to. He guided us safely to Slemenova Spica to enjoy the Julian Alps. As two girls from the city, we don\'t have much hiking experience, and he was patient and super helpful. We enjoyed our trip so much and it has been the highlight of our Slovenia trip. Thanks once again, Dean, for taking us on this experience!
He guided us to really fun hiking depending on the weather ,our skill and preference. We had a great time.
Dean is a super experienced guide, he is very qualified to do all sorts of mountineering too if you are interested to try. I had a good time learning how to do snow shoeing and he is very patient in teaching me and assessing my abilities to suggest different routes which is suitable for my build and stamina. It was great and safe to have him as a guide because he knows the terrain well and that is good to know.
