Would you like to enjoy a full winter nature immersion in the stunning Triglav National Park? Then join us on this 3-day guided adventure and reap all the benefits of snowshoeing in Slovenia with a certified local guide.

It is no secret that Triglav National Park is a haven for adventurers and nature lovers. With its beautiful mountains, valleys, forests, and glittering lakes it offers a wide variety of landscapes and terrains to explore. Furthermore, the cozy mountain huts are great for resting when the day is done.

On this 3-day program, we will have a chance to explore some of the most stunning spots in the Julian Alps. Some of the places we can visit include Vršič pas, Kranjska Gora, Tamar valley, and the Pokljuka forest. Every day, we will decide on the top spots depending on weather conditions in order to optimize your safety. Below, you can find a tentative itinerary to get an idea of what your program will look like.

Because every day we will spend several hours snowshoeing both up and down the mountains, you will need a good fitness level to join. However, no technical skills are required for this program. We will make sure that you are safe every step of the way.

Price details

The snowshoeing equipment is included in the price. The price does not include the half-board accommodation in the mountain huts for the client and the guide which is approximately 60EUR per person.


Itinerary

Day 1: Mountain hut (1511m) – VrŠIČ pass (1611m) – Slemenova Špica (1911) – Mountain hut

Transfer from your hotel to our mountain hut at Vršič pas,  where we will be staying. The trail starts a few meters away from our mountain hut. We will walk up to the Vratca saddle and continue under the north face of Mala Mostrovka to Slemenova Spica peak. From the Slemenova špica Mountain, there are fantastic clearings to the Tamar Valley, Slovenian, Italian and Austrian Alps. After a short stop at Slemenova Špica, we will descend again on our way to our mountain hut.

Walking time 4 -5 hours – 400 meters of ascent and 400 meters of descent.

Day 2: Mountain hut (1511m) – VrŠIČ pass (1611m) – Mt. Mala Mojstrovka (2366m) – Mountain hut

Walking time 5 -6 hours – 800 meters of ascent and 800 meters of descent.

Day 3: Mountain hut (Vršič pas) – Tamar Valley (1050) – Kotovo sedlo (2134m) – Tamar valley – Mountain hut (Vršič pas)

After breakfast, we will drive to the starting point of our hiking tour. The starting point in the Tamar Valley (near Kranjska Gora) is a 20-minute drive away. The path leads from the Tamar valley past the mountain hut Dom v Tamarju and further down the valley to Kottovega sedla. There are many waterfalls in the Tamar Valley in the winter glass. At the end of the valley, the mighty Jalovec Mountain, 2645 m above sea level, rises to the sky.

Total activity time: 8 hours. Walking time: 5-6 hours. Total climbing: 1000 m ascent, 1000 m descent.
