Located in northern Iceland, Troll Peninsula is a beautiful place with endless possibilities to enjoy different kinds of snow activities.
On this program, I invite you to enjoy splitboarding through this area’s mountains and valleys for 5 days. We’ll start our program in Akureyri and have the pleasure to discover untouched terrain during the day. Then, when night comes, the midnight sun will allow us to keep having fun. After each splitboarding day, we’ll get to relax in a thermal bath. As for the accommodation, we’ll spend our nights in the Karlsá Lodge, where we’ll be able to taste delicious local meals. At the bottom of the page, you can find a more detailed description of the activities.
Please, consider that you should have some prior skiing or splitboarding experience as well as a good fitness level to join this program. Take into account that we’ll face an elevation gain of around 1,000 to 1,800 meters.

I'm Iceland's first and only IFMGA internationally certified mountain guide. I'm a member of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides ACMG with whom I finished my certification. I have climbed and skied extensively all over the world, and I lived and worked in both the European Alps and the mountains of Western Canada.
I have brought this wealth of diverse experiences to Iceland and the Arctic North where I have to my name over a hundred first ascents and descents in Iceland and Greenland.
My love of the mountains grew from an early age working as a shepherd on my grandparent's farm on the Troll Peninsula in Northern Iceland. Or maybe it had something to do with my name, which in English would translate directly to Glacier Mountain man.
If you want to discover this beautiful country, please get in touch with me and let's leave together for incredible adventure!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
