Join one of the members of the Hawaii Guides team on this beautiful hiking day to the Waipo’o Falls, a fabulous spot in Kauai, Hawaii!

The Waipo’o Falls are an 800 ft cascading waterfall located in the polychromatic Waimea Canyon, a popular tourist attraction in Kauai.

Waimea Canyon, located in western Kauai, is a large canyon stretching more than ten miles and up to 3,000 ft. deep. It has a unique geological history. In fact, waimea is Hawaiian for “reddish water”, a reference to the erosion of the Waimea River which formed the canyon. The Waipo’o Falls are one of its most iconic spots.

At first, the trail will take us downhill through a path lined with strawberry guava trees. After a mile we will reach a ridge with unique views of the Waimea Canyon and Koke’e highlands. From there, a trail surrounded by lush green plants will lead us to the top of Waipo’o Falls. Then, at the end of the hike we will reach a natural pool perched at the edge of the canyon. Here we will have lunch and enjoy the peace and silence of nature.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
