Definitivamente, 2 de las cumbres más impresionantes en los Alpes Suizos, cerca de Zermatt, el Obergabelhorn (4,063m) y Zinalrothorn (4,221m) son montañas increíbles para escalar. Además, resultan ser 2 de las 82 cumbres de más de 4000 metros dispersas por los Alpes. Y en esta expedición de 4 días, me gustaría guiarte a las cumbres de cada una de estas montañas.

Nuestro programa comenzará en Zermatt. Desde allí, haremos nuestro camino hasta Arbenbiwak, donde pasaremos la noche. Después de eso, durante los próximos 2 días, llegarás a alcanzar las cumbres del Obergabelhorn y Zinalrothorn. Y al final de cada uno de esos 2 días, podrás relajarte y descansar en el cómodo Rothornhutte (3,197m). Finalmente, el último día del programa, descenderemos desde el refugio de vuelta a Zermatt.

Este programa está diseñado para escaladores experimentados, ya que el nivel de dificultad de este programa es UIAA 4. Y dado que estaremos haciendo trekking y escalando por aproximadamente 10 horas al día, y ascendiendo entre 1,000 y 1,600 metros al día, deberías estar en buena condición física también.

Itinerario

Día 1: Zermatt - Arbenbiwak (3224m)

Hoy, nos encontraremos en la estación de tren de Tasch en Zermatt. Desde allí, haremos nuestro camino hasta Arbenbiwak, donde pasaremos la noche.

Día 2: Arbenbiwak - Obergabelhorn (4063m) - Wellenkuppe (3899m) - Rothornhütte (3197m)

Temprano en la mañana, escalaremos hasta la cumbre del Obergabelhorn. Después de más travesías, luego haremos nuestro camino hacia el Rothornhütte, donde pasaremos la noche.

Día 3: Rothornhütte - Oberes Rothornjoch (3835m) - Zinalrothorn (4222m) - Rothornhütte

Después de dejar el refugio, haremos nuestro camino por la ruta normal antes de girar a la izquierda hacia el Oberes Rothornjoch. Después de eso, continuaremos hacia la cumbre del Zinalrothorn antes de regresar al Rothornhütte y continuar con nuestro descenso de vuelta a Zermatt.

I'm a professional UIAGM mountain guide who works all over the world and has an addiction for traveling and working in many different places. I live in the southern part of Bavaria/Germany in a beautiful region called Allgäu. It's the perfect location to explore the Alps.

I have spent a lot of time in the mountains since I was a kid. Mountaineering, climbing, ice climbing and running have always been a big part of my life and I hope to continue for many more years.

I was part of the German National Ski Mountaineering Team and have competed in all major global races, including Pierra Menta, PDG, Mezzalama, Tour du Rutor etc. I participated in many Worldcup races as well. This experience was very important for my guiding career in terms of motivation, knowledge and experience!
