La vía ferrata Mesules en el macizo del Grupo Sella es la vía ferrata más antigua de toda la cadena montañosa de las Dolomitas. Creada por primera vez en 1912, esta vía ferrata ha emocionado a los visitantes durante más de un siglo. Y después de solo unos momentos es fácil ver por qué. Las vistas son absolutamente impresionantes.
Experimentar la vía ferrata Mesules es más que un viaje, es una travesía. Es una exploración de la mejor colección de picos de Italia. Expuesta durante bastante parte del día, esta vía ferrata es tanto arriesgada como exigente. Sin embargo, es precisamente debido al desafío que presenta que las recompensas son tan ricas.
Comenzaremos en el Paso Sella (2.244 m). Después, nos dirigiremos a la base de la torre. Desde allí tomaremos la vía ferrata y escalaremos más de 250 metros de la pared expuesta del Piz Ciavazes. La siguiente sección del viaje te llevará directamente a la cumbre del Piz Selva (2.941 m). Desde este punto de vista, podrás ver una gran parte no solo del Grupo Sella, sino también de las Dolomitas.

Hi! I'm Renato, IFMGA guide from the Dolomites, and I work together with my colleagues Robert, Patrick & Walter (German speaking), Paolo, Matteo, Davide, Giorgia and Luca.
If I'm not available to guide you, one of them will take care of you.
I was born in 1961, I live in Campitello di Fassa, in the Dolomites, together with my family. I have two sons, one is a mountain guide, the other is a ski instructor. I am a certified mountain guide since 1982, an instructor of guides, alpine ski instructor and a Federal coach for ISEF.
Being in the mountains has always been my passion, guiding people, teaching them climbing, mountaineering... during the various seasons of the year. I very much enjoy drawing nice curves in fresh powder snow and discover the charm of the frozen waterfalls.
My curriculum and professional mountaineering is made of many ascents and some openings of routes in the Dolomites and the Alps. I climbed in Yosemite Valley (California), Ben Nevis (Scotland) and Norway, Greece, Spain and Sardinia. I did also several high altitude climbs like Mt Denali (Alaska), Ama Dablam (6828m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Shivling in India (6545m), Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador (5897m and 6310m), Patagonia (Argentina).

Davide was great! Very competent and have the perfect amount of instruction, not too much and not too little, which I loved. I like some degree of independence and Davide sensed that quickly and was able to provide instructions at the right places and gave me enough space to make my own while 100% ensuring my safety. He was super patient, allowing me tome to retrieve my phone from Rifugio Auronzo when I discovered it was missing, when we were nearly approaching Rif Locatelli. This tool an additional 1.5 to 2 hours of his time. I am very grateful for his patience and very grateful that my phone was handed in, at Rif Auronzo. Davide was super competent, gave the perfect amount of instructions and supervision to ensure I completed the via ferrata safely, as it was my first via ferrata. Yet, he gave me enough space to figure out my own steps in the steep sections going up and down, and I really appreciated that.

My friend and I are pretty new to outdoor climbing, and Robert made it a seamless and fun adventure! He gave us a few route options to pick from and did not disappoint on the day! He was professional, knowledgeable and whether he knows it or not saved my butt a couple of times on the tower! I highly recommend this trip if you're doing any climbing in the Dolomites. He's been climbing there his whole life and is an absolute expert.
