Pico de Orizaba ascent with La Malinche acclimatization (3 days)

Before the trip, Karla and Alvaro answered all of our questions and booked all of our accomodations before landing in Mexico. Alvaro, the owner of the business, is super knowledgable and was willing to work around my groups busy schedule for multiple video calls to answer questions and troubleshoot prior to the trip. Once we landed in Mexico, we were greeted by the coolest group of dudes. For La Minche, Alejandro and Danny were great! They made us awesome food and got us to the top with the perritos just as planned. Two days later, Gilgamesh and Paco guided us to the top of Pico de Orizaba in record time. I will definitely be recomending this outfit to anyone who is interested in a somewhat exotic trip to the third highest peak in North America!

First time ever to Mexico. First time ever seeing a Volcano. First time ever attempting a 17,000+ ft peak. From start to finish this could not have been a better experience. If you can, try to request “Mesh” as your guide. Unbelievably knowledgeable and incredibly patient. Will be back for another trip sometime this year!

2-day guided climb to Cotopaxi summit

We didn't actually ever work with Jaime but the guides we did have were all pretty good. We had a big group (12 people) and they were able to accommodate us very well. Christian was the head guide and he did a great job communicating with us about our options and making sure we're being safe. Some of the guides didn't speak much English and that was a little difficult for the members of group who didn't know any Spanish.

Himalayas 5 peaks technical climbing course + Ama Dablam ascent

It was a trip of a life time ! But unfortunately there was a few issues that I will list here : - Before booking, I specifically asked if our guide will really be Tshering Bhote, and you told me "yes". I book the trip, arrive in Kathmandu, and realize that our guide will NOT be Tshering... Not cool... - The "to buy" list we got from you (Explore Share) included ropes of certain diameter and certain length, and when you arrived in Kathmandu, the guide told us right away that it was not suitable ! We had to buy new ones. - Before leaving, I asked if I can rent some of the heavy gear (crampons, ice axe, also helmet) and I was told yes. Once in Kathmandu, they tell you that you cannot rent crampons, you need to buy them. This is not nice because then you don't get much choice in models and in prices... And I didn't allow for this extra weight in my bags too, which then creates problems at the airport on the way back home. But the worst was the helmet : the company lent me a helmet that was broken in many parts. I asked the guide several times to have another one, he didn't want to. I didn't pay for it, but the helmet was not comfortable and made me have sore head, and it was a serious safety issue. - The itinerary makes us climb LOBUCHE EAST first, then ISLAND PEAK, and finally AMA DABLAM last. Which makes sens because AMA DABLAM is the highest and more complicated mountain to climb, so it gives us time to acclimate, to get used to the mountain gear, and to gain confidence hiking in high altitude before trying the big one. But right from day 1, our guide's plans was not to do AMA DABLAM last (but he didn't tell us). Indeed, he forced us to go to AMA DABLAM before ISLAND PEAK, even though we didn't want to. And sad to say that on summit day, the weather was better on ISLAND PEAK than on AMA DABLAM. I later on learned that they always do it this way. So why not telling us right from the beginning and change the itinerary that we receive before booking ? The fact that they receive a summit bonus on AMA DABLAM and not on ISLAND PEAK could explain this... But then the hike is not done according to the hiker's needs and will, which is a shame. - After doing AMA DABLAM, we were then supposed to go to ISLAND PEAK. But to our surprise, our guide stayed in AMA DABLAM to guide another group ! (another summit bonus...). Instead, he asked one of the sherpas to guide us to ISLAND PEAK, along with 2 porters. The sherpa/guide is a really nice guy, trying hard to help, but could barely speak any English and had no mountain certifications at all. The trip advertises, in big block letters and in the trip's title, a guide with big fancy mountain certifications, and we ended up with someone not speaking English and with no certifications, to take us to the second highest mountain of the trip ! Not cool... The guide that I paid for is on AMA DABLAM, also getting paid by another group. How does this work ? - On LOBUCHE EAST, the guide also skipped the crevas rescuing training day. He explained that other people in the group didn't feel so well, that's why he preferred skipping it and doing it later on AMA DABLAM or ISLAND PEAK. The problem is that we never did this training day, even though we finished the trip with a few spare days left. Overall, it was still a great trip. The THG staff is great, nice, positive and helpful people. The cooking was just amazing ! The porters are always smiling, and everyone gets on well, making it a nice atmosphere. It's just lacking some communication between Explore Share and THG I think, and a guide maybe a bit more frank with his clients. Hope this helps ;-)

2-day guided climb to Cotopaxi summit

My wife and I had an exceptionally fine experience on our climb. We initially had planned the Cotopaxi trip, however volcanic activity pre-empted that and we shifted to Cayambe, Ecuador's third highest peak. Our guide was Jose Salazar and from the inquiry and planning stages we had extremely attentive and responsive service from Elisabeth Gschosser at the guiding service. No question was left unanswered. I have worked with many guiding firms- RMI, EMS, Exum to name several and Jose was by far the best guide I have worked with. IFMGA Certified, multi-lingual, a man of letters, extremely patient, an absolute gentleman, and most importantly Jose focused on us- his clients. His goal was not to run up the mountain at his speed so that the next group or clients can be ushered through the climb as in a "cattle-call". Rather, he initiated a pace that he knew would work for clients out age (63 and 54) who had never been above 14,440' prior to coming to Ecuador. He was focused on safety, technique, pace, resting, hydrating and nourishment- and of course how his clients were performing and feeling. We learned much about ourselves and our capabilities on Cayambe- but most of all we learned what a professional mountain guide was. I intend to return to Ecuador and it will be on Jose's rope that I will be climbing. A truly wonderful experience- thanks to all at Explore-Share and Andean Summit Adventure.

It was an excellent trip with a good team to take care of us. Else Tseering and his teams were always there to help and adapt to our need.

8-day Chimborazo (6,268m) Ascent in Ecuador with Iliniza and Cotopaxi acclimatization

My friend and I very much enjoyed our trip with Juan and his team. Juan went above and beyond to make the trip enjoyable and his knowledge of the Ecuadorian mountains and culture was superb! Before the trip, Juan quickly responded to our questions over WhatsApp and gave us an equipment list when we asked for it. Some of the items on the list (e.g., mountaineering boots, ice axes, helmets, crampons, and harnesses) would be provided for us in Ecuador. However, we suggest using your own mountaineering boots because there was not a large selection of sizes or styles to choose from. Also, be sure to bring a pair of non-mountaineering hiking shoes/boots for the acclimatizing hike of Rumiñahu. Once in Ecuador, Juan communicated with us about a morning pick-up at our hostel in Quito. We spent the drive to our first hike introducing ourselves and talking about the plans/options for the week. Juan speaks okay English and we learned to ask things multiple ways so to make sure our questions were understood. The other two members of his team did not speak English well, including his equipment coordinator, so we relied on translation apps and our minimal Spanish to communicate. Despite the language barrier, his team was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable throughout the trip. Juan was happy to hear we had no diet restrictions and were excited to try some Ecuadorian cuisine. Our included meals on the road and at the Hacienda San Joaquin were delicious--we even eat some cuy (a.k.a. guinea pig)! Juan and the San Joaquin staff also went above and beyond when they found out we were celebrating our birthdays and we each got our own homemade cakes! Juan is a very busy guide and is often on the phone with his team planning trip details for other clients. My friend and I were glad to have each other to talk to during long car rides and on rest days. On this all-inclusive trip there were times when he is was not with us, but he always worked hard to give us options for fun things to do on our own. As with all mountaineering, the trip itinerary changed often. First, Cotopaxi was active during our visit and was unsafe to summit, so Juan offered to substitute another mountain and we choose Cayambe. After two successful summits of Rumiñahu and Illiniza, we took an extra day to allow the weather to change on Cayambe. On this rest day, Juan coordinated with his friends to drive us to Lake Quilotoa for a day visit. At Cayambe, we found out the avalanche danger would likely spoil our summit plans, so we worked with Juan to do an early morning sunrise hike to the base of the glacier instead. It was a bummer not to summit, but the sunrise was worth the hike! We could see Cotopaxi and its volcanic plume in the distance. Finally, the summit attempt of Chimborazo went well. The weather and snow conditions were great and the night was beautiful. After climbing for 5 hours, I began to struggle on the final steep climb to the summit. Juan told me to really consider my fitness and ability to finish the next 3-4 hours of steep climbing. I made the decision to turn around, and Juan safely guided us down the mountain in the dark. Overall, we had a great time! When we return to attempt the summits again, we will absolutely be calling on Juan to guide us—muchas gracias!

Himalayas 5 peaks technical climbing course + Ama Dablam ascent

A truely amazing experience that I would recommend for anyone serious about climbing AMA Dablam. You need a very high level of fitness & mental strength to climb ama Dablam, it is not a beginner peak. Research the climb, gear required & treking around the Khumbu area before you desire to do this course so you are under no illusions prior to leaving for Nepal. If you have done the research, have all the right gear and have trained appropriately I guarantee you will love this. I recommend purchasing Uphill Athletes 24wk mountaineering training program to get you into mountain shape.

We were lucky to have unconditionally perfect weather for late of november - warm, sunny, slight wind and in addition - a good company - Cveto, the guide. I came across explore-share platform by 'accident' and tryed to contact a local guide there, but as she was not willing to guide in november, guys from Exlore-share spreaded my message among others and there came Cveto. Everthing worked out really nice with him starting from first messages in our communication to meeting me at railway station mid-night, having a good nap in his car before heading up the Fuji and the whole day filled with good conversation, stories and smiles! Mount Fuji 1-day Off-Season Climb, Private Guiding

Short story: Chika is awesome, hire her. Long version: We are very satisfied with the experience. Chika made sure we had the proper gear and kept us informed on what to expect and what to bring weeks in advance. One or two days before our reservation, the weather was uncertain and she offered us the flexibility to wait until the last second to decide whether to cancel, change the date (we could not change for another date) or go ahead with the activity. On the morning of the activity, the forecast was dangerously windy (70-80 Km/h) but she is very knowledgeable of the mountain and its weather and made the call to change the climbing route. Since the wind was expected to be mostly NE, she hoped the Yoshida route would be less windy since the mountain offered some cover. She was right, we enjoyed a fantastic climb. Moreover she picked us up in our hotel in the fuji area and dropped us off at the train station, and even helped us with the train tickets! couldn't ask for more! Thanks Chika!

Mount Olympus, 3-day guided hiking tour in Greece

With the support of Dimitris and his assistant Ismini, we were able to conquer two peaks. I appreciate much their experiences and kindness. 5 Star guides. The On Day 1, they picked me up at the hotel in Litochoro at 9:00, then Dimitris has checked my belongings and purchased extra bottle of water. I borrowed a helmet, harness and headlamp . I should have taken my own headlamp(light). He drove to Gortsia and park there. We started toward the first ref. Petrostouga. We took a short rest around 11:00, then we continued to the first peak, Skourta. I was able to keep my body warm, to avoid to be cold, by switching between fleece, wool underwear and a rain coat that also provided wind protection. Along the way, I learnt a lot about vegetation, trail safety, and how to climb efficiently from Dimitoris. Soon after walking on the beautiful ridge, we have faced a bit steep rocky trail, then we were on the Plateau. We have stayed our base ref. G. Apostolidis. As Dimitris had taught me beforehand, I did not need a sleeping bag; just a liner was sufficient. Next morning, we woke up at around 6:30, then we had breakfast and went to the highest peak, Mitikas. I proceeded between the two of them and when I reached the bolt for protection, I was taught to switch the carabiner of the lifeline to my back. Half an hour's climb up a slightly steeper trail and we were at the top. At the second summit, Stefani, we only stayed for about a minute due to bad weather at the top, but we did feel a sense of achievement. Aiming to descend after 5:00 pm that day, I quickly returned to the base refuge, picked up my gear and decided to head for Prionia, another trailhead, this time via Spilios Agapitos. It seemed quite long, but somehow my knees held out and we reached the trailhead almost on schedule at 17:30 h. We were able to hitch a bus that had taken another group up to Gortsia. He was right that I was a very average climber, and the difficulty level was just right. However, it would be a bit difficult to summit safely without a guide. And perfect weather was also helped me. The original itinerary was for three days, but a week before, I was informed that it would be two days due to the guide's availability, and he asked if he could compensate by climbing the second highest summit, Stefani, as well. Unfortunately, the weather on the two summits was bad and I honestly don't know if this would have compensated for the three-day trekking, but the tour was satisfactory and I gave it five stars. If the customer didn’t have enough toughness, or weather was not perfect, it would be difficult to complete all the way including two peaks within two day. The website was also okay, but the original schedule was still unclear for me. The preferable belongings (differ from the seasons), route map, and itinerary should be clearly written.

Climbing Mont Blanc in 5 days

The trip included a climb on Gran Paradiso and Mont Blanc by Italian guides. Prior to the trip, I had asked twice if my trip could be rescheduled to the following year because we had heard of safety concerns on Mont Blanc and my main climbing partner was not able to come so my wife was filling in (and she did not have experience climbing big mountains). I did not get a reply on those questions, so rather than lose the money entirely, we decided me must try. Long story short, she got altitude sickness on Gran Paradiso so Month Blanc was definitely out. PeaksHunter staff informed me that not only could I not get a refund (which is understandable), I could not reschedule the Mont Blanc portion to the following season (a question I had earlier asked and not been answered). If you are looking to climb Mont Blanc, I would highly suggest looking at French only guides, as there are a LOT of hidden fees with PeaksHunter and their policies are not at all customer friendly. To be fair, I should note that PeaksHunter showed excellent hospitality with scheduling rooms and alternate plans for us, but in the end, I paid for a climb on Mont Blanc, and even though PeaksHunter wanted to reschedule my climb by moving a couple of days for weather reasons, they refused to work with me on moving to the next season which I think is completely unreasonable. Last, I would like to say that our guide, Paolo was AMAZING in how he looked after my wife and got her safely off the mountain when she suffered from altitude sickness. I hope the company gave him some of the money they kept from refusing to reschedule my Mont Blanc portion of the climb.

6-day Mont Blanc ascent with acclimatization

We spent a perfect week with Stephane in Chamonix. The 3 days acclimatization in the beginning are physically rather less demanding, but seemed very important to learn and deepen mountain climbing techniques as well as getting used to the altitude and to each other. The climb itself is very demanding, though. We started from the town of Bionnassay to the Tete Rousse Hut (1800 meters in altitude) on day 1, continued to the summit of Mont Blanc on day 2 (YES, we made it!) and returned to Tete Rousse Hut on day 2 (1800 meters up and down) and down to Bionnassay on day 3. Stephane made an outstanding job in keeping us going and motivated - and of course, high mountain trekking is exhausting and physically and mentally challenging. One should be aware of that before thinking of ascending Mont Blanc. We saw many other groups that were not well prepared and had difficulties during the trip. The 6 day itinerary gives the chance of evaluating one's capacities before starting the ascent. I would definitely recommend as well the trip as the guide Stephane Comte! Thank you!

Mountaineering in the Alps with a guide

All the booking went well with good preparation emails and information. It was a little late that we received the last update that we meet the guide in the hut, bet everything went well. The guide was very kind en helped us in the right pace to the top. The last part we went, but we go very fast downhill and the group wasn't able to walk together anymore. Overall it was a wonderful trip with great views. Thank al lot!!.

Matterhorn 2 Day Guided Climb From Switzerland

My summit attempt with Peakshunter was splendid. Jacopo was a fantastic guide and made me feel safe during the entire attempt. He also shared some great knowledge about climbing and mountains in general. Unfortunately we had to turn back before the summit due to the weather conditions, which was the right decision considering the circumstances. Peakshunter provided all relevant information and were always willing to answer questions if I had any. The first contact with the guide was also seamless and smooth. I will most definitely pick Peakshunter if I go for another attempt next year and highly recommend their services!

Dimitris is an excellent guide. He is knowledgeable, reliable, flexible and very safe. He was quickly able to gauge our group’s skill level and adjust our group’s needs (pace, timing, routes, etc). I would definitely recommend him for any adventure you have in mind. Thanks Dimitris for such an amazing experience!

Gran Paradiso guided ascent

The trek to the summit of Gran Paradiso was challenging and full of excellent scenery. In general, it was an enjoyable experience... the admin support, the planning and the equipment provided were all great and the Refuge Chabod was a brilliant set up. In order to help with future successful expeditions, it is VERY IMPORTANT that the guide provides a clear briefing at the start, then regularly listens to the clients, and also needs to be willing to adjust the pace when required. We felt we were being raced up and down the mountain as quickly as possibly, purely to suit the guide, without having sufficient breaks across the day to have the necessary water and nutrition and to catch a breath to simply enjoy the views from time to time. As a result of this desire to just 'get it done', there were moments when it felt unsafe and this forcefulness made the climbers feel uneasy and hustled on a number of occasions across the two days. These trips must focus on the needs and desires of the customer, especially as we are not familiar with this specific mountain. However, overall, it is a trip i would definitely recommend. There's a lot of ground to cover in two days but it can be done and is worth it. A beautiful summit and a stunning part of the world. Thanks.

Climb Mt. Whitney via the Mountaineer’s Route Summer/Fall, 3 days

Had an amazing experience! What memories but must be honest, we were in over our head. Feel we were physically up to it but we went from sea level to 10,000 feet in 30 hours and it was a challenge to keep up. Some time to acclimate would have made a big difference. The guides were careful and supportive. We were outside our comfort zone for sure but also realize that made it so memorable! Thanks Loren

2-day guided climb to Cotopaxi summit

Jaime is a fantastic and very experienced guide, the tour was very well organized: We were picked up in Quito and slept at Tampopaxi lodge for one night, a beautiful place. On the first day we did an acclimatisation hike which was quite rewarding. Then we drove/hiked up to the Cotopaxi refuge and started our ascent at midnight. Unfortunately we didn't make the summit due to the winds and our headlights died. The whole trip was still very interesting and definitely a great experience. Jaime and Elizabeth provided us with all the information we needed for the trip, helped with the gear and ensured a safe hike. Jaimewas very strikt with the safety rules. If we go for another hike on Cotopaxi we would definitely choose Jaime and the team again. Thanks so much for the great days.

2-day Matterhorn summit via the Hörnli Ridge, from Zermatt

If you're climbing the Matterhorn you need to go with a local guide who has climbed it many times and therefore knows the correct route. On our climb we encountered a lot of people off of the main route, which takes longer, is more dangerous, results in rocks being knocked down, and even getting stuck on the mountain without shelter for the night (as four climbers had the previous night). Daniel has climbed the Matterhorn over a hundred times and did nine days in a row in 2022. He was able to tell me to go straight, right or left and where footholds were. He is a very strong climber and I felt that he would probably catch me on the short rope if I slipped. It turned out that I was not in as good shape as I needed to be, so I climbed more slowly than ideal, for which I got a verbal flogging (hence minus one star). I made it to the Solvay hut in about 2:30 before we turned around. Notes: (1) You need to book two days with Daniel earlier in the week for a test climb to see how you do rock climbing and with crampons. All of the larger guide services do this. (2) You pay for your ticket and his for the tram, as well as for the rooms in the Hornli hut. (3) You might be able to borrow an ice ax and other gear. Check when you book, then confirm a few days before. You can rent gear at Yosemite and other shops in Zermatt.

I have summited some amazing peaks, but Mt. Whitney has stolen my heart. From her diverse landscape, to the ever changing appearance of her face each hour of the day; she is a wild beauty not easily put out of your mind. This Jersey girl hiked/climbed/scrambled-up/slid-down the Mountaineer’s Route, which was both physically and mentally challenging but, incredibly fulfilling. My guide, Matt M., was confident, extremely knowledgeable and skilled, and I am pretty sure part mountain goat. Best guide I have ever had, prettiest mountain I have ever been on; if you are considering this hike, I would say DO IT!

Fantastic guide service! I have skied with a number of guides over the years and I have to say that the guide we booked through SWS was one of the most knowledgeable, instructive and fun guides I have spent time with on the mountain. From the pre-trip communication all the way through the climb and ski down, I felt that I was in good hands, which was really important to me as my climb/ski partner was my 17 year old son. Our trip was epic, 4:00AM wakeup to a full moon, beautiful climb and huge ski down, my only complaint is that it was only a two day trip! Highly recommend, great experience!

Just finished my second trip with SWS Mountain guides...summiting Mt. Shasta a few days ago (previously climbed Mt Whitney last summer with SWS as well). This company provides excellent service both on and off the mountain, from addressing all my questions prior to the trip to establishing a well-rounded professional and fun educational experience during the climb itself!!!! Specifically, the guides on my trip were amazing, connecting with me on both a professional and personal level, keeping in tune with all aspects of the climb, emphasizing safety and education while helping me to fine-tune my climbing technique. Having used several different guiding services in the past, I have no hesitation to highly recommend SWS mountain guides!!!!

Climbing Mount Triglav (2864m)

Climbing Mount Triglav (2864m)

We had a fantastic trip up Triglav with Igor from the Mitja Sorn guiding team. Communications in advance while we were organising the trip were very responsive with all of our questions answered. We were told exactly what to pack in advance, which was really helpful, and we were very impressed with how well organised everything was to get us up the top in the best weather conditions (which given the changeable weather was quite an achievement). Igor was clearly a very experienced guide and made us all feel very safe on the trip. The Triglav mountain hut was extremely comfortable though you might consider taking ear plugs if you are kept awake by noise. We would have no hesitation recommending this guiding team to anyone else contemplating a Triglav ascent during their visit to Slovenia.

He keeps on motivating you during the climb and makes you feel safe all the time (it was our first time via ferrata). If you are in good physical condition, you can easily do the climb. My guide Bernardo was fantastic and super helpful and experienced and friendly. They were also able to provide me vegetarian food, and a sleeping bag. I have particularly large feet (US size 14-15 in sneakers), which means that the ordinary krampons didn’t fit my boots( (US size 13). But they worked to find me some krampons that would fit me in time. I share this as testimony for their good service but also as an advice to give your guide a headsup if your feet are also particularly large. I did not make it to the top, but only becauae i was gassed (out of energy). The aclimitization and pace were good. It was a challenge for me to do so much hiking in the cold and dark hours of the morning before sunrise. But even though i didn’t make the summit, i accomplished a lot and set personal records and had a very unique experience with unbelievable views. And the guide and company were very helpful always.

6-day Mont Blanc ascent with acclimatization

Dear Sir I am very disappointed to say that I am appalled by your guide and his service. The first 3 days he was excellent and trained us well. Once we got in the mountain everything changed. He didn’t bother to check our bags which ended up with us carrying 8/9 KG’s overweight. Not only till another guide asked him why my bag was so big did he realize that it was a good idea to check. Not very professional. Then instead of been on the mountain 3 nights (as planned) he ran us up and down in 2 nights (3 days). Because of a storm on the second day, we did not summit. The next day the weather was better and if he had stuck to the plan, we would have made it. On summit day he kept shouting at my son (in front of a lot of people) just because my son took a few minutes more to get ready. He shortened our time on the mountain by one night just so he could get too the next client. On the 5th we were supposed to decent from Tette Rousse to the train. He was already with the next couple. At one stage I wanted to walk with 2 poles, he didn’t let me. (many other people used 2 poles) The only thing that interested him was breaking records for going up and down. I felt like I was in army basic training. I am 56 years old. On the last day from Tette Rousse to the train, he ran down so fast that the last 15 minutes on the mountain we were alone (he was at the train station) I trusted him and got scammed. In short, I already have a 4 team trip for next year, but because I cannot trust you or your guide I am forced to use a another company. I will not either be able to recommend your company to others either. Pity, it cost me a lot of money. And I believe you owe me on day fee, as we spent 2 nights on the mountain and not 3. Very disappointing

Nevado Huascaran 6-Day Guided Ascent

Octavio wss injured and we ended up with Hector instead. He is new, but is very friendly and hard working. I would acclimatize more than the stated 3 days at one of the lagoons if you want to increase your chance at success. Communication was lacking a little prior to the trip with no contact until the day before the trip. Overall the crew was great and went above and beyond my expectations.

Climbing Mont Blanc in 5 days

Had a fine trip to Grand Paradiso with guide Elis from Peaks Hunters. The speed were quite high but good to be tested before mont blanc. Elis and us self evaluated that the succesrate to summit MB would be low so eighter an alternative climb or convert the trip for next year at French side. I understood we could convert the tour and get an voucher to be used next year. Contacted Silvia as well day after to comfirm that if we could get a voucer we then would like to cancel. Silvia agreed to send voucer day after. Now to day they unfortunately reply to the cancellation policy (no refund ). A very disappointing turn around, in that case we would ofcause have taken an alternative tour now when we had vacation. Br Jesper Pedersen

Babis is an amazing guide with years of climbing experience all over the world. I was able to really enjoy the last scramble up Mt Olympus because Babis had me in harness and guided me safely--totally without fear of falling--unlike the people trying to do it without a guide and ropes. Very patient and encouraging. Great trip!

Climbing Mount Fuji from June to September

Climbing Mt. Fuji during this time was most definitely worth it. There were no crowds to contend with and the experience was very enriching. Cveto is an exceptionally amazing guide with decades of experience and was an absolute pleasure to be around. During the trip, my legs cramped up to the point of barely being able to walk. However, with Cveto's attentiveness and patience, we were able to make it to the top and back down without any issues. Having Cveto on this climb was highly vital for my trip and it would be a mistake to not have him accompany yours. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Clients should be told that the money paid is just for explore-share and the guide. That there is extra cost. €56 for transportation, €18 per person per night, cost of food and a guide is not necessary if you don't go to the summit. The fitness level is very high.

Mount Fuji off season climb (mid April /early June)

This was a fantastic trip with Cveto. Our initial date for the climb was unsuitable due to some very bad weather so we rearranged to take the trip on another day. We (three >40yo blokes) stayed in a mountain hut with Cveto the night before and set off for the climb at about 4:30am from an altitude of about 2100m. Even though it was mid June, there was quite a bit of snow on the mountain, particularly towards the top. This required us to don the crampons and rope up. We reached the summit after about 5.5 hours. We then descended around 1500m on snow (much of it sliding down on our backsides - very very fun!). One of the best things about the climb was that we saw two other climbers in total! Cveto was extremely professional throughout and our safety and enjoyment were his priorities. He is an extremely knowledgeable and interesting guy and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anybody wanting an off-season summit attempt of this wonderful mountain. Thanks Cveto!!

For those who don't have the convenience of time or just want to avoid a crowd, would recommend this Mt. Fuji hike. No open amenities, but it also means no lines. My guide, Cvetko, was exceptionally knowledgeable - makes sense having done this hundreds of time - and extremely patient with this newbie hiker. I was worried I couldn't do it, but his gentle guidance made such a difference. I am proud to say I made it to the top. Definitely recommend!

Mont Blanc All-In 2-day ascent via the Gouter Route

Unfortunately the guide did not speak English fluently enough for us to have a good constructive dialog. We got more information from listening in on other guides when they informed their clients. It halted our possibility to plan and adjust our trip underway. The dialog between us, Explore-share and PeaksHunter was at times confusing and created some uncertainties regarding responsibility, payments and information. We will in the future try to go directly to a provider instead of going through a third party.

2-day Climbing trip to Pico de Orizaba (5636 m)

I am 63,  I tried to climb Pico de Orizaba 6 months ago without success.  I was in a group of 8 people and the guides seemed to be in a hurry to finish their job, I could not keep up with their pace. I decided to try it again, searching the web for Pico de Orizaba climbing I found Explore-Share where you can find guides from all over the world, 3Summits Adventure was the option that could not have been better,  I can say there is a world of difference between 3Summits Adventure and the other mountain guides. My guide Lalo was all attention to detail,  he let me climb at my pace always making sure I was in condition to continue and checking for any symptoms that could affect the climb, without his patience and experience in the mountain I could not have reached the summit. In 5 days I climbed La Malinche and Pico de Orizaba, something that at my age I could not have done it without the guides and services 3Summits provided, Karla and Lalo made it possible for me. You can take a risk and try other guides, there are plenty of them, but if you really want to make it to the summit 3Summits the best option.

Jaime may be one of the most kind and capable human beings we’ve ever met. He let us know exactly what we needed to do to be safe on our summit, while also making it a fun and exciting experience. We were not as fit and experienced as we should have been, and Jaime made sure to not push us past any limits. We had an amazing time (even got engaged at the summit!). Climbing the Osorno Volcano (2,656m), Overnight and sunrise ascent from the Teski Hut, near Puerto Varas

I had a wonderful time on my journey to the top of the Osorno Volcano and cannot recommend Huella Andina enough. José and his team were very good at communicating with me from the moment I booked my trip. While I had been initially a little hesitant, unsure if I had enough experience for this trip, José was very clear about what to expect and assured me that my prior experience was definitely sufficient, putting my mind at ease. The trip itself was very well organized. My guide, Falco, picked me up from my hostel in Puerto Varas. I was able to stay in the Teski Refuge the night before the ascent, enjoying a delicious dinner and breakfast prior to the start. The climb became a little technical, as conditions were icy toward the top, but Falco was an excellent lead, telling me exactly what to do once we started to use the ropes. The view from the top was very special as you climb above the sea of clouds and see other volcanoes in the distance. If you are planning a trip to Osorno, I highly recommend Huella Andina Expeditions to take you all the way to the top! Can't wait to come back to Chile and do another trek with them!
