**Madriu-Perafita-Claror is a glacial valley in southeastern Andorra. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2004 under the category of “cultural landscape”**. Join me on this fun half day hiking trip and explore this beautiful place with me!

This glacial valley, **which covers an area of 4,247 ha**, features high open pastures, imposing cliffs and leafy forests. **It is surrounded by huge mountain peaks and can only be reached through hiking trails.  Additionally, it is also popular for its rare wildlife including** chamois, roe deer, wild boars and foxes, among others. **Furthermore, the Madriu offers a perspective of how local inhabitants have used its natural resources for over 700 years**. We will find dwellings, field terraces, tracks, and ironwork remains. Moreover, its old communal land-ownership system reflects the **persistence of pastoralism and a strong mountain culture.** 

**This tour is suitable for family groups. Prior hiking experience is not necessary**. Although we usually walk 10km (2 or 3 hours), we will adapt the outing depending on your wishes. Therefore, we will make sure that everyone enjoys the excursion!

Madriu Valley half day hiking tour in Andorra

##### Despite being a very small country, Andorra is nonetheless a beautiful place to visit and explore. And on this week long hiking trip, you will get plenty of opportunity to see what makes this place so wonderful.

You will be staying in a very comfortable **3 star hotel** throughout this trip. That hotel will be our base, and from there, we will venture out to several different and sensational spots. Those spots include the **Madriu valley, the Cabana Sorda pond, the Sorteny Botanical nature park**, and the **Ensagent lakes**. Other spots you will get to visit include the **Rialb valley, Querol, Salamander, the Font Verd refuge, the Estall Serrer** and the **Estany Moreno**. You will also get to trek to the summits of two marvelous peaks during this trip as well. Those peaks are the **Griu peak (2,874m)** and **Pessons peak (2,860m)**. from these summits you will be granted spectacular panoramic views that will really open up the natural landscape of **Andorra** for you.

During our hikes, you will get to admire the landscape’s amazing variety of **flora and fauna**. You will also likely get the chance to see some of area’s wildlife as well, including **marmots**.

This trip is open to people of all levels. However, because we will be **hiking for 5 to 6 hours per day**, you should be in **good physical condition**.

When you arrive at the hotel, we will have a welcome dinner at 7:00 pm and organize your trip.

Arrival

Today we will hike through the beautiful Madriu valley. In the valley we will visit the Font Verd refuge and the Estall Serrar. We will be hiking for approximately 5-6 hours.

Madriu Valley

We will hike to the Incles valley. Along with the Cabana Sorda Pond, we will also visit Querol and Salamander. We will be hiking for approximately 5-6 hours.

Today we will hike through the Sorteny Nature Park. Afterwards, we will go up to Lake Estanyo and return by way of the Rialb valley. We will be hiking for approximately 5 hours.

Along with hiking to the summit of Pessons Peak, we will also visit the largest lake area in the country that consists of 18 lakes and ponds. We will be hiking for approximately 6 hours.

Pessons Peak (2,860m)

Today’s hike will begin in the valley of the Cortals d’Encamp. There you will get to see the Estany Moreno. We will also hike to the summit of the Griu peak as well. We will return by the same route or by the Collada d’Entinyola and the Bosc del Campea. We will be hiking for approximately 6 hours.

Gastronomic and cultural 6-day tour in Andorra

**Andorra is a small country in southwestern Europe, bordered by Spain and France**. It is divided into seven parishes, each with its characteristic beauty. Come join me and hike around all of them on this amazing 7-day trip!

Located in the eastern Pyrenees, **Andorra is a prime hiking destination** due to its pleasant temperatures (300 days of sunshine), stunning mountain landscapes and trails for all levels. **About 10 million tourists visit this country every year!**  

On this 7-day hiking trip **we will explore the seven parishes of Andorra**. These are some of the highlights of the tour:

**– The Incles Valley**: Set between the towns of Tarter and Canillo, it was formed by an ancient glacier. It offers **beautiful alpine landscapes** and it’s very rich in flora and fauna.

**– Pessons Glacial Cirque**: It is the **biggest glacial granite circuit in the country**. In this unique place you will see how glaciers have modelled the terrain of Andorra for centuries, leaving behind beautiful rivers and ravines.

**– The Sorteny Natural Park**: This botanical paradise hosts **more than 800 species of flowers and plants** in an area of 1,080 ha. We can also find thriving wildlife (deers, marmots, stoats, and more than 60 bird species, among others).

**– Comapedrosa Nature Park**: Located in the parish of La Massana, it includes the Comapedrosa Peak (2,942m), the highest point of the country. The park is set in a **high mountain scenery formed by forests, lakes and waterfalls**.

**In terms of requirements, you will need a good physical preparation but no previous mountaineering skills.** Also, this trip is suitable for kids above 12 years old.

The Seven Parishes 7-day guided trek in Andorra

This **5-day Andorra hiking and spa program** will take you beyond the renowned ski resort and shopping world of Andorra!

Because Andorra is a **small country surrounded by mountains** you can expect much more than just ski lifts and some stores. I would like to take you to discover this **hidden paradise for trekking lovers**.

**Please note that this program is available starting from June 22nd, that is when the Grau Roig Hotel opens.**

We will have **4 days of hiking**, plus one extra day in case of bad weather conditions.

So I’ll take you **deep into its valleys, lakes and beautiful peaks**. You’ll get to know the blue waters of Engolasters lake, the beautiful Del la Serrera peak (2912 m) and the Pico de Comapedrosa, which is the highest peak in Andorra. Plus, you’ll be walking through **Madriu Valley, declared  a UNESCO World Heritage Site**.

During this hike, we’ll be walking long 7-to-9 hour stages. The path isn’t difficult but you need to be in good shape. However, the **tough hiking days will be rewarded when you return to the Spa of the 4-star Grau Roig Hotel**, where you’ll be staying!

In addition, on the third day we’ll have the pleasure of staying up in the Borda de Sorteny mountain hut (1965 m).

**So please come join me and discover the hidden treasures of Andorra. This 5-day Andorra hiking and spa program is a great way to get to know a different side of the country, during summer!**

We’ll meet at 5pm on the Grau Roig Hotel. I’ll give a brief informative talk. Dinner at 8pm.

Today we’ll hike to Engolasters lake – Madriu valley – Illa lake – Circo de Pessons – and back to Grau Roig Hotel.

We’ll go to Incles Valley  – Cabana Sorda lake – Ransol valley – De la Serrera peak (2912 m) –Sorteny Valley, inside the Sorteny National Park – and we’ll spend the night at Sorteny mountain hut.

Hike through three valleys

Today we’ll leave Sorteny mountain hut – Portella de Rialb – Font Blanca peak (2904 m) – Ordino-Arcalís ski resort – and back to Grau Roig Hotel.

Hike to Arinsal town – Coma Pedrosa valleys National Park – Comapedrosa peak (2942 m) – Circo de Baiau – Col dels Estanys Forcats – Refugio Del Pla de l’Estany mountain hut– Arinsal town – and back to the Hotel.
