Come and enjoy an exciting, privately guided full day traverse of the amazing Aonach Eagach Ridge, from Glencoe, in Scotland with certified guide Scott.
Enjoy a full day scrambling adventure on the Aonach Eagach Ridge in Scotland.
Push yourself on one of the most challenging ridges in the Scottish Highlands.
Join me on an unforgettable traverse of the Aonach Eagach Ridge, a Scottish classic! During this full-day adventure, you will be expertly guided every step of the way, so that you can explore it.
The Aonach Eagach Ridge in Scotland is located north of Glencoe, and stretches for approximately 10 kilometers, from the Pap of Glencoe to the Devil’s Staircase. The ridge also has two Munro summits: Meall Dearg and Sgorr nam Fiannaidh. This makes traversing the ridge a thrilling and challenging adventure. In fact, the Aonach Eagach Ridge is considering the most difficult of all the ridges in the Scottish Highlands.
The most difficult part of the Aonach Eagach Ridge is in the central section. During this part of the ridge, which stretches for approximately 2 kilometers, the area is extremely rocky, and traversing it requires scrambling. However, despite the challenges, the views and the experience of making your way through it are unbelievably rewarding.
As a result of the challenging nature of the Aonach Eagach, participants on this trip should have prior scrambling experience on classic Scottish Routes in order to join. A good fitness level is also required.
So, are you looking for a real physical challenge in the Scottish Highlands? Then join me on this full-day traverse of the Aonach Eagach Ridge. I know you’ll have a fantastic and memorable experience.
Would you like to climb the Munros of Cuillin on the Isle of Skye? Then join me on this 4-day course.

I am a fully qualified Mountaineering Instructor based in Fort William, on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands.
I have been guiding in the UK for 10 years and chose the Scottish Highlands due to their remote feel and beauty. Rock climbing, Ice climbing, mixed climbing and more can be done in this area and it is all so accessible.
We offer a wide range of trips with Ben Nevis guiding, the Skye Cuillin ridge and Glencoe guiding amongst our more popular trips.

What a fantastic trip ! This was my first time to use crampons and scrabbling. The pre walk information and communication was 10/10 Scott and Malcolm were extremely professional with a great knowledge of the mountain. I felt safe yet appropriately challenged throughout which made for an unforgettable day. The company was top class too. I could not recommend climbing Ben Nevis with Kirkhope mountaineering highly enough ! Thanks so much Paula

We thoroughly enjoyed our summit with Andy. Scott was also easy to communicate with. The whole experience was one to remember and we feel so proud to have made it to the top in the time that we did. Although our hike started in poor weather, we eventually got to see amazing views on the way down. Andy provided helpful facts about the mountains which makes us confident we will be taking on another challenge soon.

Scott is a great guide with excellent communication skills, local knowledge and technical expertise. The trip up the Ben was fantastic and throughout the whole experience Scott was always on hand to help or give assistance when needed as well as taking the time to teach me some new skills along the way. Thanks very much

I\'ve done the Tower Ridge with Scott and he has been excellent from the start, prompt and professional to deal with to get it all organised, and a superb guide. Highly experienced and skilled, I did not have a slight slip in confidence along the way, despite weather conditions being far from ideal with rain and fairly high winds - I should mention that I really appreciated he was keen to take me up there in this weather (of course maintaining the flexibility to turn around at any point if the route could potentially become unsafe, but his judgement was just spot on). He also explains everything along the way, gives tips and is fun to be around. 5 stars, I wouldn\'t hestitate to book him again.

Our mission was to hike up Ben Nevis but not along the main footpath. We hoped for something a bit more challenging. ..and we got it. Uncertain of what we’d be facing, Scott expertly assessed our ability during the first part of the hike and enthusiastically confirmed that we could handle the trip up the back. Knowledgeable about about the area, geology and flora, Scott was an excellent guide and fun to spend the day with. He offered us tips for managing the terrain and kept the pace that would give us the adventure we were looking for. We came away feeling that the investment in a guide was well worth it. We would not have tackled that route without his guidance. Recommended without reservation! Thanks Scott

I contacted Kirkhope mountaineering looking for a guide to take me along a more adventurous route up Ben Nevis. Scott responded to my voicemail very quickly and was able to talk me through the various options and offer guidance on difficulty, exposure etc and on the required equipment. This along with all the other communucation during the trip was courteous and efficient. All the guides are MIC qualified so you know you are getting the real deal. My guide was friendly, efficient and extremely knowledgeable which made me feel safe and confident throughout the whole trip. I throughly recommend Kirkwood mountaineering to anyone wanting a first class guiding experience. Excellent.

Great time walking up Ben Nevis with Kirk\'s help. It rained the entire time and was unbelievably gusty, but with Kirk\'s expertise I was able to complete the journey safely!!!
