The long and steep slope of the Niagara Escarpment stretches over 700 kilometers from Niagara to its northern limit in the small community of Tobermory.
Famous as the cliff where the Niagara River plunges at the world-famous Niagara Falls, the escarpment is also a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. In addition, it holds the oldest forest ecosystem in the east of North America.
Climbing its steep slopes brings you up close to the fossils buried in the sedimentary rock. Discover its fascinating formations that are over 450 million years old.
With tall, solid and quality rocks, there are many sections along it that are ideal for a wide variety of rock climbing. These include top-rope climbing, rappelling, and single-pitch or two-pitch trad climbing.
Depending on your level of ability, desire, and experience, there is an ideal section of the escarpment for you. And with my guidance, we can help develop your climbing objectives.
For first-time climbers Rattlesnake Point and Buffalo Crag offer great opportunity for top-rope and trad climbing. Also, Devil’s Glen is one of the best places to introduce yourself to sport lead climbing.
For those more experienced climbers, then Lion’s Head offers difficult yet incredible sport climbing routes that overlook the beautiful waters of Georgian Bay.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
