Many words come to one’s mind when thinking about rock climbing: adventure, adrenaline, fun, freedom, strategy. That is because it is one of the most complete sports, combining intelligence with physical skills.

This program is designed as an introduction to the exhilarating sport of Rock Climbing. We will go to a local climbing area and participants will have the opportunity to climb a variety of routes with the security of a top rope. Safety is our top priority.

You will learn the basic skills to rock climb outdoors including:

Hazard awareness and risk mitigation

Tying into the rope

Belaying and Lowering

Communication between climbing partner

Climbing Movement techniques

Also, there are different venues we can visit, some of them are:

  • Sunshine Slabs

  • Kid Goat

  • Back of the Lake

  • The Darkside

  • Tunnel Mountain

  • The Dome

My goal is that you enjoy these amazing spots in Alberta! However, I also want you to be safe and learn a lot. That is why I will make sure we follow all the safety rules and I will give you constant feedback. I recommend this trip to people in good shape. Additionally, keep in mind that this course is open to all ages.

Send me a request and I’ll gladly answer all your questions. Let me show you one of the most beautiful parts of Alberta, Canada, and share with you everything I know about rock climbing!

If you are looking for a winter adventure, you can also check out this Rogers Pass Ski touring trip that I also guide.
