Description
The small village of Rimetea is one of Romania’s best kept secrets. Boasting a unique location in Transylvania, with beautiful traditional houses and surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Trascau Mountains, Rimetea is also a great location for a rock climbing trip.
If you have only indoor climbing experience or just want to put your climbing skills in use along an instructor, this is a great opportunity for a great climb in a beautiful outdoor location.
Rimetea’s distinctive limestone rock formations are spread on an area of about 2 square kilometres, offering several routes ranging from difficulty 4b to 7c. The rocks can be seen from a hill opposite the village. Reaching the different spots takes from 10 to 45 minutes, up to the hill.
Rimetea is a great place to enjoy a rock climbing experience. After the climb, you can relax surrounded by the calm of the place, one of the most beautiful rural villages in Romania with a rich architectural patrimony and pristine nature.
Please note this is not a course, but no matter your level, if you are a beginner or intermediate level climber, you will enjoy a great climbing outing with us in Rimetea.
The purpose of this outing is for you to gain confidence in rock climbing. We offer you full safety along your climb, guiding you with the necessary instructions according to your level.

It all felt like such a genuine and local experience that was off the tourist map ,an absolute gem. the 2 day trek ended with us descending into the most beautiful Forrest iv ever seen, foraging wild berries next to a running stream with donkeys passing through, There’s so much more to tell I’m not great with words , but I would recommend this too anyone do it!
