Mendoza may be known around the world for it’s tasty Malbec (and with good reason), but wine is not all it has to offer. This Argentine province is also a popular destination for outdoor lovers.
Located just across the Andes from neighboring Chile, Mendoza has a mild climate year-round. This makes it a particularly popular destination during the winter months here in Argentina.
Our venue for this multi-level rock climbing trip is the Atuel Canyon in San Rafael, Mendoza. Known as an adventure sports hot spot, San Rafael’s outdoor activities range from river rafting and kayaking to horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking.
The Atuel Canyon is one of the best venues in all of Argentina for winter climbing. When it’s too cold to climb further south, this is the place to be. Plus, with climbing routes from beginner to advanced, the Atuel Canyon is ideal for climbers of all levels.
Our climbing community here in San Rafael is a warm and friendly bunch, and we would love to have you come and climb with us. Grab a friend or come solo. We will be waiting for you here in the Atuel.

What happens if the guide cancels the trip because of bad weather/unsuitable conditions?
If bad weather or unsuitable conditions force the guide to cancel the trip, he or she will: a) propose a similar activity at a different place where conditions are better, or b) propose to postpone the activity until a later date, or c) cancel. If you refuse option a), our cancellation policy will apply. Please note, however, that the call to cancel a trip due to bad weather can only be made by the guide (not the client).
What happens if the guide doesn’t show up or cancels for personal reasons?
If the guide cancels for reason of injury or other, you will get a 100% refund on your trip.
Tents, sleeping bags and climbing harnesses are available for rent.
About the Guide
Mountaineering and climbing are the essence of my daily activities, I practice them, study them, design training and accompany those who have the motivation to experience and perfect them. I have been working in Los Glaciares National Park since 2013. I also work in the Central Andes, and as an climbing instructor for several clubs and associations. I climbed in the central Andes of Argentina, in Patagonia Argentina, in Brazil, in Chile and in France. I achieved significant achievements in the sport and alpine climbing in Argentina as ascents of several needles of Patagonia Argentina including Cerro Fitz Roy.
