This ski touring course in the Ore Mountains in the Czech Republic is perfect for those who want to try this activity for the first time. You'll learn about mountain safety, avalanche equipment and progression on skis.
During this 2-day course, we will cover the use and proper care of ski touring equipment. You will also learn how to use avalanche equipment (beacon, probe and shovel) and we will practice searching for victims. In this regard, I will also teach you how to assess avalanche risk and we'll talk about snow and weather conditions.
This course takes place in the backcountry terrain of Bouřňák ski resort, in the Ore Mountains, from mid-February to April. I can take a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 people on this course.
No previous ski touring experience is required because it is a beginner's course. However, take into account that we will spend between 6-8 hours on our skis every day. A good physical condition is a must.
If you're visiting the Czech Republic during the summer and would like to check out some of the programs I offer during the warmer months, don't hesitate to take a look at my sandstone climbing program in the Elbe Valley and my via ferrata day trip.
Join me on this ski touring course and learn to enjoy the backcountry in complete safety. Contact me and we'll start planning!

I'm an IFMGA-certified mountain guide currently based in the Elbe Valley, Czech Republic. I've skied since a very young age but climbing is my true passion. I was in climbing representation and have climbed many big walls in the Alps, the US and Greenland. To me, mountain guiding is a unique profession: it allows me to spend my days doing what I like and to share with others the beauty I find in in the mountains.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
