3-day hike from Paria Canyon to Buckskin Gulch, Utah

In the southwest of the United States, trickling into the Paria River are the waters that flow through the Buckskin Gulch canyon, the world’s longest and deepest slot canyon.

A little further upstream lies the Paria Canyon, one of the most popular places for canyoneering in the region.

Witness the surreal water-polished, sandstone walls that soar thousands of feet above our own.

The feel of the canyons is similar to the Zion Canyon, yet with a greater sense of solitude.

We begin by flanking the Paria River, where the canyon is open and with stunning vertical views. Check out the beautiful red rock plateaus as well as an ancient seabed that is now a desert cliff.

Our trail leads us into more narrow sections, where our slot canyon hiking begins. As the sun slides behind the rocks, we will camp in the beautiful area of the confluence of the Paria and Buckskin canyons.

Then we will retrace our steps back to the starting point but with different views of the canyons.
