Nestled into the foothills of the mighty Himalayas, sightseeing and hiking in Kathmandu is the best way to experience the Nepalese capital and its surroundings!
Home to about 2.5 million people, Kathmandu boasts some of the most important cultural attractions in the country as well as some great and easy hiking destinations.
The fun begins after a representative from our team picks you up at the airport and takes you to the hotel. The following day, we will head out on a city tour, visiting four of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage sites: Pasupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhnath and Kathmandu Durbar square.
Along the way, our local and knowledgeable guide will shed some light on the fascinating culture and history of Nepal, including the important roles of Hinduism and Buddhism in the country.
The following day, we will drive northwest to Kakani and hike to Gurje Bhanjyang, from which point we will enjoy phenomenal views of the mountains in nearby Langtang National Park.
The hiking is not very strenuous, making it perfect for participants of every fitness level and children of all ages.
On the final day of our trip, we will head to Patan, just south of Kathmandu, and visit Nepal’s third largest city.
Known as the city of festivals and feasts, Patan has a rich cultural and culinary heritage, which we will certainly enjoy and experience with all of our five senses.
