Description

I will guide you on this exquisitely beautiful 4-day hike from the Chon-Kemin Valley to the Issyk-Kul lake in the Tian Shan, Kyrgyzstan, an area of the country where sumptuous scenery reigns supreme, the astounding size and postcard-pretty nature of the Chon-Kemin Valley making for a magnificent setting in which to hike, explore and get to know this country better.

Kyrgyzstan is a landlocked country in Central Asia, bordered by Kazakhstan, China, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and is best known for its highly mountainous terrain and its long, distinguished and ancient history and culture.

After meeting in Bishkek, the biggest city and also the capital of the country, we head out to the Chon-Kemin Valley via the Burana Tower, a stunning 24-metre high UNESCO Heritage site that provides amazing views out over the Chui Valley and nearby Kyrgyz Mountain Range.

After spending the night in a guest house, day 2 is when we begin our hike to the Bai-Kishi Jailoo (a mountainous pasture), winding our way along the sublime banks of the Chong-Kemin River to the slopes of the hills and mountains, all covered in irresistible fir forest.

We keep hiking on day 3 to reach the mighty Kol Konur Lake, which stands at 2500m high and is unique for its trapezoidal shape.

Day 4 is when we finally reach the Issyk-Kul Lake, a great reward for our exertions, and we will have ample time to swim and relax in this unbelievable place, the rich blue water surrounded by the nearby snow-capped peaks and lush forestry.

Our adventure finishes when we head back to Bishkek, hopefully having convinced you to explore even more of this underrated gem of a country.

This is the best possible way to spend 4 days in Kyrgyzstan – book now to experience the raw natural beauty of Central Asia!
