Join Joel, UIMLA certified Mountain Leader, on this amazing 4-day trail running journey on the Carros de Foc trail, connecting all 9 mountain huts in spectacular Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park in Catalunya, Spain.
The Carros de Foc itinerary is a circular 76-km route that links all of the huts in Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici, a wild and pristine mountainous National Park dotted with over 200 lakes and countless rivers, located just 3,5 hours by car northwest of Barcelona in the stunning central Pyrenees.
Some of the fascinating places we will come across on our journey are: Sant Maurici lake, the peaks of Els Encantats and Les Agulles d’Amitges, the Circ de Colomers lake, the valley of Monestero, the Besiberri massif and an infinity of other lakes and peaks.
We will be sleeping in 3 different mountain huts where we’ll be able to rest and refill our energy reserves with the delicious food prepared by the huts’ staff who will make us feel right at home. During the day and as long as the route schedules allow it, we’ll also be doing map and compass orientation practices, with and without GPS.
If you have good physical and aerobic conditions, love mountain environments and want to get into multi-day trail running, this is the perfect trip for you! Request to book now and enjoy the challenge of this spectacular 4-day trail running experience with 4.900m accumulated vertical gain in the beautiful Pyrenees!
