We will be based in the Bow Hut, located on the eastern edge of the Wapta Icefield in Banff National Park.

During these four days, I’ll teach you the basic skills and safety measures in mountaineering. Some of them include: navigation and route planning, site safety, hazard assessment and emergency protocols.

We’ll then apply our knowledge attempting to climb some epic summits, weather permitting. We’ll also review glacial, snow and ice travel methods and glacial morphology and crevasses, crevasse rescue and snow/ice safety assessments.

For this course, you need to bring or rent the following equipment:

  • helmet,
  • harnesses,
  • backpack,
  • mountaineering boots,
  • crampons,
  • ice axe,
  • glacial travel/crevasse rescue kit.

I’ll explain the proper use of the equipment, how to take care of it, and its limitations. Especially the use of an ice axe and the self-arrest technique.

Are you ready to dive into the mountaineering world? If so, send your request and get ready to have a wonderful adventure. I would love to guide you through the beautiful landscape of the Canadian Rockies in the Banff National Park in Canada.

I'm a Full Alpine Guide with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and an Active Member of the Canadian Avalanche Association.
I has climbed across the lower 48 United States, Western Canada, multiple expeditions to Alaska, and Greece. Calling Canmore home, I feel my best attribute is my passion for teaching and sharing what I have learned over the years of being in the mountains. Combining my mountain experience with my thousands of hours as an industrial rope access tech/supervisor, as well as, being a SAR Rope Rescue Leader, my guests can be assured that they are in good hands.

I holds an Adventure Guide Diploma through Thompson Rivers University, which is one of the world’s premiere adventure tourism programs where students spend two years refining their mountain craft and business skills associated with the adventure tourism industry.

I'm proud to be at a point in my career where I can guide full time and I'm able to share my love of the mountains with my guests. I'm always looking forward to the next adventure and building long lasting relationships with my guests. I'm one of those people who’s passion and love for life is contagious.
