Description

Ride through the astonishing landscapes of the Alps on this 5-day ski touring trip in Bernina Pass!

Bernina Pass is 2,328 meters above sea level and belongs to the Bernina Range, in the Central Eastern Alps. It is a wonderful area to enjoy good runs and catch the incredible views of the Alps. On this program, this will be the starting point for our ascents.

First, on day 1, we’ll meet in Albergo Ristorante Cambrena, in Bernina Pass. Then, on days 2 and 3, we’ll choose our destinations according to weather conditions. Some possibilities include Piz Ursera (3,032 meters), Piz Minor (3,049 meters), Sassal Mason (3,032 meters), and Piz Albris (3,166 meters), among others.

Finally, on days 4 and 5, we’ll take the cable car to Berghaus Diavolezza, a hotel located at 2,978 meters. From there, we’ll begin the ascent to Piz Palü (3,901 meters). We’ll continue the ascent with crampons until we reach the top. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy the descent through Morteratsch glacier, a very large glacier in the Bernina Range.

Because of the physical requirements of this program, it is important to have prior skiing experience and a very good fitness level to join. Take into account that you will face ascents of around 4 hours and 1,200 meters of altitude.

So, does this program in Bernina Pass sound tempting? Then, don’t hesitate to send a request to book your place.

I also lead a ski touring program to the Dolomites, a beautiful area in the Alps. Check it out!

Mountain Guide

IFMGA/IVBV Certified mountain, ski and canyoning guide, member of DAV and VDBS mountaineering and sport climbing teaching and training team. I’ve been part of the VDBS team for the formation and training of German mountain guides for 20 years.

I started climbing at the age of 17. Since 1987 I am certified mountain guide and a passion has become a profession. I live in Scharnitz / Tyrol and I am leader of the moutaineering school Alpenwelt Karwendel in Mittenwald.
Ice climbing in norway, skitouring in morocco, rock climbing in cuba or high mountains in the himalaya - I like it to explore new areas around the world. I led a DAV training expedition for talented young mountaineers in the Tian Shan mountain range with climbing Khan Tengri and did several expeditions to the karakorum mountains and the himalayas.

As a full-time mountain guide, I feel at home in the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains as well as in the mountains and climbing areas worldwide. I am happy to accompany you as a guide to your desired goal!
