There is something mysterious and exceptional about exploring a truly remote area of the world. And in the case of the Aniakchak national monument, that is exactly what you will get to do because that is exactly what it is. And for 12 days, you will have the chance to explore this amazing, isolated place.
The Aniakchak national monument is located in the Ring of Fire, a highly volcanic area that touches a portion of Alaska. This legendary ring comprises the majority of the world’s most explosive peaks. Thus making places within it, like Aniakchak, wild in every sense of the word.
Due to the wildness of the area, there are some difficult spots as well as bouts of disagreeable weather. However, these are challenges that we will not only face, but overcome on this 12 day adventure.
Throughout this trip, you will be surrounded by nature at its most pure. There is an assortment of incredible wildlife you may be lucky enough to see, from wolves and foxes to caribou and even grizzly bears! There are also several wonderful lakes, forests and rivers to see as well. But one of the most memorable highlights of this trip is the enormous caldera located deep in the monument. The caldera is all that is left of the ancient Mount Aniakchak. This amazing crater is approximately 10 kilometres in diameter. And during this trip, you will get to see it up close since we will be hiking all around it. Hence giving you every opportunity to take in its beauty.
There are few places in the world that could be used as definitions of the term wilderness. However, the Aniakchak national monument is definitely one of them. So send us a request, and let us guide you through it over 12 exciting days.

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
