The Aniakchak national monument is located in the Ring of Fire, a highly volcanic area that touches a portion of Alaska. This legendary ring comprises the majority of the world’s most explosive peaks. Thus making places within it, like Aniakchak, wild in every sense of the word.

The caldera is all that is left of the ancient Mount Aniakchak. This amazing crater is approximately 10 kilometres in diameter.
