At 4167 m, Jebel Toubkal is the highest peak in Morocco and also in all North Africa. Join me for a 4-day adventure and reach the summit of this emblematic mountain!

Laying in the Atlas Mountains and inside Toubkal National Park, this peak is a popular destination among climbers.

This time, I propose the classic way to climb it: an exciting 4-day trip starting from Imlil.

The first day we’ll hike towards a mountain hut at 3200 m. The following day, we’ll get used to altitude by climbing different peaks. Finally, we’ll approach our objective on the third day. After reaching the summit, we’ll spend one more night at the mountain hut before returning to Imlil.

Four days is enough time to obtain a good acclimatization. Besides, it will allow you to adjust the itinerary depending on the weather, so that you can reach the summit on a sunny day!

For further information, you can find an itinerary for this climbing trip below.

Although I generally recommend the 4-day option, you may also consider taking a 3-day trip to Mount Toubkal in case you are traveling to Morocco with very little time. However, you’ll need to be in a very good shape if you want to do that, or the trip may be very tough.

Please contact me if you want to reach the highest point in North Africa! I’ll be glad to to be your guide in this wonderful experience.

About the guide

guide profile img

I am a certified International Mountain Leader and a Summer Mountain Leader (UK). In addition, I hold a Diploma in Conservation and Wildlife Management.
Originally from Great Britain, I am now based near Marrakech, in Morocco. Actually, in a Berber town at the foot of the Berber Mountains.
The love for travel runs in my veins. In the Sahara I lived with nomads. In Siberia I met reindeer herders. In Mongolia I traveled with yurt-dwellers.
The stunning landscapes and nice people of Morocco have enchanted me, which is why I now live here. My goal is sharing with my clients the exotic beauty that I've discovered here.
The environment is of extreme importance to me. In particular, I'm interested in geology and birds of prey.
Besides speaking English and French, I can get by in Berber.
My work is not limited to this area: I also do the Tour du Mont Blanc trek in the Alps.
