Description

I’m happy to invite you to a classic route in the Pyrenees: Carros de Foc. It’s a great destination for those skiers and snowboarders in search of good powder snow and breathtaking sceneries.

During these 5 days will do a hut-to-hut tour passing by some of the 9 mountain accommodations that the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park has to offer.

Our adventure starts at Pont de Ressec, from where we will ascend through a forest to get the Restanca Hut and then move towards the Güellcrestada’s Col. There is an optional ascent to Montardo Peak and then we’ll snowboard down to the Ventosa and Calvell Hut, where we’ll spend our first night.

Going on with our itinerary, we will visit the Estany Llong hut as well as the Colomina, Josep María Blanc, Amitges, Saboredo and Colomers mountain lodges.

You’ll also have the chance to do other optional ascents on splitboards to the main peaks of the area and then enjoy fantastic descents. Contraix, Peguera or Tuc de Saboredo are some of the mountains you can climb. Finally on day 5 we will enjoy great powder runs and snowboard down to Baños de Tredós, our final point.

Some things to consider for splitboarders:

  • You have to be in excellent physical condition and have vast experience in this kind of winter activities.

  • The best routes to use splitboard are the high routes of the Pyrenees as they not only offer gentle slopes to descend but it is possible to make a good progression also in the ascents, for which we may need to use crampons and ice ax, in addition to the board.

So if you’re an intrepid splitboard this is your opportunity. Contact me now by clicking on the green request button. I’ll be glad to be your guide along the Carros de Foc route.

Not so keen on splitboards? Then I also offer a ski touring variant of this route. Check it out here!
