This is the best way to discover and enjoy the best snow in the Pyrenees. Heliski combined with ski touring in Val d’Aran is an amazing experience.

Each morning, a helicopter drops us on top of a remote peak, and we start an awesome day skiing down. Then we continue our ski touring day through isolated valleys, skiing the best snow exclusively.

Once we finish the route, what better way to relax and recover than discovering the traditional Spanish food in one of the ancient villages of the valley. Then we still have time to merge with the locals in the evenings.

The main reasons why I enjoy guiding my friends and clients here are:
    – A quick access to the summits
    – Over 1000 meters of descent every day
    – A chance to discover remote valleys and ski exclusive descents
    – The pleasure to enjoy the culture and food of the most authentic valley in the Pyrenees.

I usually plan this program for 5 days, you can find more details in the itinerary below. But I can change the plan according to your wishes and schedule.

If you are interested by such great adventure in Val d’Aran, please feel free to contact me. We can then discuss the program in more detail and arrange a tour that fulfils your wishes and expectations. If helicopters are not your thing, I also offer a ski touring trip in the area.

    About the Guide

I love what I do and love to transmit my passion while guiding.
After touring the world fulfilling my dreams, I have put together all the knowledge gained and a strong background as a mountain guide to become one of the most versatile, dedicated and professional guides in the Pyrenees.
I'm currently completing my IFMGA certification as a way to close a cycle of more than 15 years of experience guiding different activities (trekking, climbing, mountaineering, ski touring, kayaking).
My resume has technical trainings in mountain medicine, snow studies, search and rescue complete training, meteorology and botany.
I spend the winters enjoying the unique snow conditions in the Aran Valley, as a ski touring and freeride Guide, and summers climbing the countless areas of excellent rock, either granite, limestone or conglomerate in the Pyrenees. I also spend a lot of time in Iceland during the summer guiding my friends and clients across these incredible landscapes.
While traveling the world, I make every effort to show the beauty of the landscapes, the quality of the rock and the best snow in the Pyrenees to everyone who wants to check them out.
Please get in touch with me if you want to discover the Pyrenees !

What People are Saying about Roger Martorell

It\'s a long slog of a climb, but doable as long as you\'re reasonably fit (but you don\'t need to be an Olympic athlete). The views are stunning. The Puente (bridge) de Mahoma is mentally tough with steep drops either side and some uncomfortable climbs. I\'d strongly recommend using a local guide as they help you with the planning, kit and techniques, they share knowledge of the surrounding area that you wouldn\'t get otherwise and they help you over the more challenging stretches

The helicopter was a surprise and it was awesome, it was a great first time experience in the backcountry. Our guide, Roger, was really helpful and patient with us and we found really good snow.  The hiking up was especially tiring when it was really hot but the skiing was epic.
